I was at the Fredricksburg Fun Fly and saw a 600 fly loop and roll around and I will have to say it was very impressive! Especially since the guy on the sticks was not one of the Szabo bros. He was running 6S and it was pretty powerful but I was more impressed with how smooth it fly and how solid it looked in flight.

Great news Bob. I'm curious how it compares to your Sceadu. I'm considering going all electric and replacing the Sceadu with the 600.

I saw a friend fly his for the first time Saturday. I was impressed enough that I bought one that afternoon. It's going to be a Helicam and carry a Airfoil M1 Carbon 30p.

Nice to hear Trex600 are doing good. Im currently here in Manila. Leptons here are only $500.

But No Trex600. Prolly HongKong and Taiwan is the only place to get those. cheaper. :)

I flew mine yesterday and I have to say this is one SWEET flying heli. It is like it is on RAILS man. I would say it flys and tracks better than my Sceadu. In fact Gscott, I was thinking the same dang thing yesterday evening..... e.g. selling the nitros.
My Vibe is awesome but parts are hard to get. My Sceadu 50 is awesome and in my opinion the BEST flying nitro 50 out there right now but this no nitro mess is really got me thinking now with the Trex600 and the fact it flys so good!

Trust me guys this thing fly AWESOME!!!! The only down fall is flight time of 6 minutes. A sceadu 50 has a big tank and you can fly twice as long. So if you dont mind 6 minute flights then I woul say GO FOR IT!

I am , I am!

I'm *VERY* seriously thinking about selling the Raptor. These electric machines are SO much less of a hassle than the nitros and I think it'll only get better as battery technology improves.

I can't remember the last time I flew one of my nitro planks.. Been flyin' the electrics exclusively since the beginning of the year. Chuck 'em in the truck with a few batteries at my Tx and go fly. Did that with the 450 this morning and got in a couple batteries before work. I'd still be wiping the goo off a nitro bird instead of wasting time here. heheh

e*Raptor will be out here shortly. There is a prototype test flight here.

Bob,

How thick is the carbon frame? Any obvious weak points like the few on the Lepton?

It's a pretty dang beefy frame but I did see Andy break one a month back. It broke right in front of the motor behind the battery tray (same place I break my Trex 450 frames in a bad crash). However he continued to fly with it broken there with no perceived problems.

What sort of throttle curves are working best for you guys in hover, idle1, idle 2. the battery in idle 1 at 85% in the middle makes the packs really warm but not hot. In idle 2 at 95% in the middle my pack got to 153 degrees (TOO HOT). Any Thoughts. PS i will try and tach the head speeds on wednesday.

Idle 2 is 100,95,90,95,100

With those guys tearing it up in my vids, pack temps on the 4400 packs (not the 4200 packs) is in the 130's.

I thought about going all electric but I can't go from 10+ minute flight times to 5 minute flight times.

Can't imagine it will be long before greater Mah packs start to surface. I know it's a different ball game but I fly 8000Mahs on my logo. loads of time.

I heard that in the middle of next year there will be some new li-po cells with about 5500-6000mah 40c i think they will be powerfull!

guys are you talking about the Trex600 that comes with the align controller and motor and BEC combo? will these take 6S packs? (6 pacs hmm  )

is it comparable to a 50 sized nitro or a 90 sized nitro?

Yes these use 6S packs and it is the same size as a 50 sized nitro.

Here are the Align packs for this heli:

thanks bob! been doing lots of research!

oh how about performance? is it also like the 50 size! i'v seen 450s with 4s setups that perform as 90 machines! would you agree for the 600?

i am sorry, i think the only thing i havent done is the most important thing, Seeing,, currently downloading clips to see for my self. but i'd like your opinions too .

Performance is great as far as how it flys. It doesnt quite have the RAW out power of a nitro 50 but it is REAL close. The only draw back is 6 minutes flight time but that will change as we see better batts.

As far as how it flys, it is one of the best 50 sized helis out there in my opinion. It "feels" and tracks like my Vibe 90. After flying many different nitro 50's I always liked the Hirobo Sceadu Evo 50 the best and this thing flys better than that does.

You wont be diossapointed!

Bob,

Is that 6 minutes of 3D? What would the flight time be for FFF and basic aerobatics such as stall turns, loops, flips, etc...?

Finless

I set my timer for 6 minutes and did just what you say with some flips and such thrown in. I took out 60% of the pack.
The vids you saw from the 2 Align pilots were hard 3D and they fly 5-6 minutes so you might get 8 minutes as a guess....

I'm very interested in seeing how many cycles we can get out of the Align/TP 6S2P setups... 100 cycles would be great - 20 not so great.
