Hi,

I just built my first heli...i been flying the Blade CP for the last 6 months and have now upgraded to the Trex 450se. I would like to know how to do a proper range test with the radio.

Equip:
JR 9303
JR R770

Thanks for the help!

leaving the antenna collapsed on the transmitter, power the chopper with a friend overlooking the heli, walk 80 ft or more away and look for loss of signal/control.
If you have throttle hold set, and your failsafe is set with throttle stick @ mid, cyclic @ mid, throttle hold ON and have all channels set to Failsafe, spool the heli to a LESS than hoverable headspeed, and walk until the machine goes into failsafe.. You *should* get 80- 100 ft.
I confirm failsafe settings by turning OFF the transmitter while powering the reciever with a 4.8v nicad, ESC unplugged, and make sure the swash goes level.
