Not happy with my original set-up, I wasted most of today trying something that will probably be to heavy! I used an old tripod and erector set, making it so the entire unit is removable, also had to recreate the bottom plate of my Superframe as the original is way too thin to support any weight.

Kudos for innovation making it removable but the weight does look like an issue.

Ditched the aluminum and went with super light foam core. It seems pretty strong, I used dovetail between the two main pieces. As long as it lands that's the only time I need it! I now have a speaker mount holding the camera so I can swivel it around. Low tech, low cost, if my battery ever shows up I'll try it :(
