Hi Everyone,

I am new here. I thought I would mention a word about the new RD 8000 helicopter radio system from Airtronics. It is a very good system to use with helicopters.

For about 250. discounted you can purchase the system with four ball bearing servos. This is a system with a PPM reciever. For about 300. you can get the optional PCM reciever with the system. The transmitter is capable of both PCM and PCM when purchased with either system.

The RD series radio systems also have pluse shift built right in. Pluse shift simply means if you get an RD series 6000 or 8000 system on the same channel, as an existing PPM system you already have, the RD transmitters will run those Futaba, JR, and Hitec PPM recievers. Built right into the transmitters with nothing else to buy. Each model memory can have a different pluse shift set if you like. When you change the model memory the pluse shift will change as well. There are almost none of the radio systems produced today which you can pluse shift the transmitters.

I did not see any posts under the Airtronics discussion here so I thought I would put the first one on here. The RD 8000 is a great 8 channel radio system for helicopters. If you ever need a second RC system consider the RD 8000. You won't be disapointed. Many people say the RD systems don't have all the mixing of the other RC systems. If you should try one, go to the ETC menu first, and turn the basic function off. Once this is done the radio has all the helicopter mixing like the expensive systems.

It also has airplane and sailplane programing built right into the software as well, with nothing else to buy. It is really a great RC radio system at the best price around. And it will fly a helicopter as well as any of the other RC systems produced today.

I used to use only Futaba radios since the early 80's. I got into heli's and the hobby shop said "best bang for the buck heli radio is th RD8000" I bought one for my Raptor and now have my Shogun a brushless sailplane and another plank on it. Easy to figure out once you figure it out and more features than I can count!
Great radio

I have an airtronics RD8000 that I purchased from Heliproz and was looking to purchase a second RX battery pack and a field charger. Do anyone have any suggestion?

I have to agree, this radio rocks! The thing I like the most is that, unlike other computer radios, it isn't like holding a five pound brick in your hands. The RD8000 is comfortable and lightweight.
