When my YS dies I am thinking of trying an OS SZH, I have seen a lot of posts that concern me re the whole pump / exaust pressure and regulator set up or indeed the pump and vented tank set up. I am so used to the reliability of the YS Crank pressure and regulator set up that I am wondering if the stock SZH with the Cline (OMI) mod is the best way to go for both power and reliability?

Any comments as to the best set up?

P.S. NO "just fit a YS and forget" posts please. I am familiar with YS and like it however I am always interested in trying new stuff and I like the look of this engine :)

The SZH with the OMI set up is a can't go wrong engine. I have the SZH with the OS reg pump but I haven't run it yet so I can't say on that one.

Mine was good until I tired to get the needles set properly. It will run on the rich side. I'm convinced my pump is faulty on my sz, I have spoken to some top flyers in the UK about this and its seems there maybe a problem over here. They have changed the carb, added a perry pump and are using muffler pressure. This seems to have sorted the leaning out issues. I am still reluctant to do this as I have read so many posts stating this engine is superb out of the box.

My new pump arrived the other day, its fitted so am going to try it soon.
