I'll be there 3rd week of August for a week on vacation. I'm going to try to bring my RaptorCam. Anyone around there want to meet up at all??
I know C. Bergen is and I plan on seeing him. any others?

I'd love to get together, I'd especially like to see you fly some video.
Problem is it's about 200 miles from me. If the weather is good though, I might have to take a personal day during the week and head over.

you're more than welcome to spend a day with us. my cousin has a HUGE back yard. We could even go take the Taylorcraft up for a buzz around the patch if you like that kind of thing.
I'll be there from Aug 15 to 21.
I'm trying to figure out how I will get my heli there. I've brought a raptor before but at that time I coulda cared less how the ramp guys treated the but with this ship I've spent tooo much time getting it just right to have something knocked out of kilter.

Dj,
I'm in the Fort Wayne area.. not too far from SB. I may have my Raptor outfitted by then as well. I stole a gimbal from one of my other mounts and I'm doing some work on the airframe as well. I need to get some blades/gears/belt yet, but that's easy stuff. I'd love to catch up w/ ya if you're out there!!

What about shipping it to your cousin? You might be able to pack it better that way.
If you can't hard case it somehow for the airlines, I would be hesitant also.
Or better yet, pull the boom and blades and pack them in your luggage. Put the rest of the heli in a hardcase with a shoulder strap, and carry it on. If they question you, just tell them its your purse, uh I mean "man-purse", and then site with it on your lap, and don't let anyone else touch it. :D :D

You could send it to us as well, if that helps.

South Bend, huh...that ain't too far. Especially if I can cook up a reason to get to our Defiance, OH jobsite :) Would be better than half way there then. I'll have to see what I can work out!

maybe what I'll do is pack up the nitro RaptorCam. I'd hate to tear down the electric now that it's working so damn well. Plus my Nitro bird has the AP2000i on it anyhow. I'd like ot try some high altitude photo work at my cousins property.
he claims he can go higher with his slow stick than I will with my Raptor. with an AP on board I may have to smoke him!

He'll smoke you! :D
Up north at my cottage (rural, wide open land) I had my slowstick up to 1450' measured with a zlog. I don't think you will take that raptor that high.
If I come out, I'll bring my zlog, it just plugs into a spare channel or y adaptor, and it will instantly show max altitude when you come down. Then you can have real bragging rights.

yeah..I think you can beat 400' pretty handily with the stabilizer working for you. Your not, however, going to clue him in to that somewhat unfair advantage, now are you?
