I am flying a raptor 30 and I am now upgrading it for 3D flying.
As it is my first model I was using a T6XA, but it's quite limited.
I found two radios at very friendly prices, one is the 7CHP and the other is a 8UHPS. Many people here use the 8ch but (as the 7CHP I found is much cheaper) I was wondering wich is easier to programme and wich would offer more functions...
To sum up, which would be the best buy!
Thanks

I would go with the 7CHP. That is the one I use and I love it. As far as programming is concerned go to www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/manual-7c.html. Here you can view the manual online in PDF format. The 8UHPS as far as I know is one of the older systems that use analog trims and so on. You can go to www.futaba-rc.com/radios/index.html and research most Futaba radio systems.

I may very well be wrong about this, but I though the 8U didn't support CCPM.

hmm..whats ccpm?
CCPM is "Cyclic Collective Pitch mixing". With CCPM you link 3 servos directly to your swashplate (usually at 120 degrees apart) to perform both the collective and the cyclic functions. Some refer to this as eCCPM (meaning the mixing is electronic rather than mechanical). This has several advantages, not the least of which is doing away with a bunch of mechanical linkages and the slop that goes with it.
In any event, this used to be a pretty rare thing, but is becoming quite common. I know my old 7UHP didn't support this. I'm not sure about the 8UHP.
