What is the current thinking as to who makes the best after market frames for an electric conversion?

Hi,
This one is the best conversion if you ask me. Direct servo to swash-perfect for FBL.

Furthermore its the lightest one on the market. 4 KG ready to for flight is not a problem:thumbup:

The Heli-Chris conversion is also very nice. I like the very user-friendly battery tunnel.

Hi Janis, what is the advantage of the direct swash-servo links? Doesn't that stress servo more?

Hi Janis, what is the advantage of the direct swash-servo links? Doesn't that stress servo more?

The conversion set has 3 peaces of carbon which will support the servooutputshaft. i think wit todays servo it wont stress it more.
The advantage is that you have less throw to the head. As I said its the best for Flybarless.
I think for the flybared version it would be better with the push pull system.

Suzi-Hans

This kit will convert an Align T-Rex 700 nitro to an electric heli. The conversion kit is designed only to work with a flybarless head. You cannot use this kit with the stock flybared head.

Any thoughts on the Photoship frameset?

I am wondering if the Photoship frame set has room for the KDE Thrust Bearing Blocks (http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/at700n-mbb_metal_bearing_block_with_thrust_bearings_nitro-p-6846.html) I think the Heli-chris version cannot accomodate these (Please correct me if I am wrong - I don't want malign anyones product). Anyone know?

Won't quite fit. The elevator/aileron shaft needs to be vertically centered in between the two bearing blocks for the KDE blocks. The shaft in the Heli-Chris frameset sits just below center and results in mechanical interference between the elevator arm and the lower bearing holder. It is very close and looks as if a bit of filing might just allow it to clear but I didn't want to ruin my KDE blocks. Silly since they're now just sitting in a drawer.

I have the Kasama bearing blocks installed in my Heli-Chris frame set. They just fit. The KDE's must be slightly larger.

Cool, the Kasama blocks also have thrust bearings.

How about the micro Heli Triple bearing blocks (http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/mh-tx7001ebb_microheli_triple-bearing_bearing_block_trex-p-6324.html). I suppose these dont incorporate thrust bearings though.
