Hello I am a friend of Fung from Flying-Hobby. He has asked me to help answer questions about the new and VERY cool Aplus 400
I finally have mine built and painted. For the price this helicopter CANNOT be beat. this is full carbon/alloy construction.
Most of the alloy is CNC Plasma-Cut to keep costs down and is why the edges of the metal look rough, This has ZERO impact on flight/durability and is only aesthetic but it is a small thing to deal with for the price of this helicopter.
I found this to be extremely easy to assemble, very intuitive. Aplus 300 I feel is aimed more for Advanced builders, and the 400 should be fine for most intermediate builders.
the Floating flybar head is really cool and works very well.
there is hardly any slop in the control surfaces/mechanisms. this is also feels very accurate in the air.
I will post more about how it flies in a couple days. for now go ahead and look at my very bright Neon paint job. ( hehehe) I have a hard time seeing these mini-helis when they are far out in the sky.
feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
I hope everyone is having fun with their Heli's :-)
I highly recommend this helicopter and stand behind it. oh yeah. replacement parts are very inexpensive.

What is the cost?
It looks nice enough although I don't see many 3D machines with that much weight at the paddles.
Can you post a picture of the tail rotor assembly?

Probably because most people look for these type of adds in the manufacturer dealers for sale forums. With the trex parts at every local hobby shack, people dont want to wait on parts from overseas.

Ahh I see. good points.
I did not intend this to be an "add" but rather just a thread to talk about this particular helicopter. I'm not sure about the level of visibillity this has here in the states.
it costs $159 and I have also bought the Aplus 300 in the past. any time I needed a part I usually recieved it in about 3-4 days via EMS shipping and at regular shipping prices.
Sure this is a specialty heli and parts are not instantly available at the local LHS. some people may not see this as an issue. Parts are stocked.
Personally to me I don't care where the parts come from when I order online.
anyway we can use this thread to share ideas/experiences if anyone else ends up with one of these really cool machines.
Plus the bottom line is you get a MUCH higher quallity machine for less then you would spend getting a (brand-x) cheapo plastic CP heli going the way you want....
David.
PS. yes I will be removing the weights on the flybar. I simply left them on while trimming and initial hovering.

Still Fying and loving the Aplus400 , No crashes yet as this thing does exactly what I tell it to do. this is the best mini-heli for the dollar I have played with so far.
This Aplus makes number 23 in my "collection" of helis.
Anyone here have one of these yet to talk about ?

Have you flown the SJM$)) as well..I hear they are close to the same design...what type of servo's do you reccomend as well as tail servo? Any particular weigt as for batts and electronics...How does the motor hold up and does it bog ? What type of pitches should one expect? How long does the build take on an average of say an intermediate builder?

Would it be possible to get a picture of the tail case and tail pitch slider assembly ? thanks

Helo Dark Poacher,
Have no flown the SJM, but it has the same head and tail so it should fly similar. Personally I'll spend the extra $30 to get the carbon fiber and better landing gear. ( better LG is obviously a subjective comment) .
funny thing is I don;t have a recomendation for any servos yet. as I am flying mine with the S75's that came with my Spektrum TX. the supplied motor is very powerful and I have not been able to bog it. Pitch range is +-12° and an average builder should be able to assemble this in about 3-4 hours. it is very simple to build.
I love mine.
SJM VS. aplus ?? do you want fiberglass chassis or Carbon chassis to go with the alloy ? do you like the weird stilt legs of the SJM or the cool lo-pro legs of the Aplus.

Superdave 420, I´m new on this :D . So than I don´t even have an heli, but thinking to join the club. I´v seen this model in
http://www.rc-expert.com/product-package.php?pid=101. Please could you tell me the differences between this one and the fung shop, besides the price? I´m from Spain and for me is no difference to buy overseas, because is not around me anywhere, but the price it is.
Thank you.
