Are you modeling in Inventor?

no.... I'm using Lightwave 3D and 3D studio Max. they are not true CAD design programs.... I use them at work alot and it's what I know so I go with it :)

DJ...

I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you're doing on these mount. Developing new ideas takes time, money, patience and motivation. I wouldn't be able to develop a quarter of what you've done! Your ability to try a new idea and willingness to share the info with everyone is admirable and I wanted to thank you for it! (no not trying to blow smoke up your a$$... just really appreciate all the effort).

What really stands out in all of this (AP/V technology) is that we're seeing things evolve before our eyes. A little of it is behind closed doors but so much of the technology is developed out in the open - and immediately available to all. If it weren't for such an open exchange I don't think the mounts, heli's and much of the equipment necessary would even be available - and definitely not be as good as it is.

So... here's to you Mr. RaptorCam Camera Mount Creator Guy!!!

it will fit any raptors. you do need ECCPM kit that TPPacks.com sells. (In fact, gary can set you up with the heli kit as well)

thanks Wes! my social life lately has been nearly non-existant but I am enjoying what I'm doing. It also helps immensly to have guys like Andrey (askman), Gary Goodrum, and Mark Pozoulli (MJP Carbon) assisting me with fabrication, design and products.

It's a joint effort and just think where we'd be without instant communication of the internet? Can you imagine where we'd be just 10 yrs ago? wow.

I am hoping that by September I will be in full swing. By that I mean I'd like to get to a point where I am able to send out at least 3-5 Raptor mounts a month. During this development stage things seem to be going slowly but I can assure all of you that there are so many things going on behind the scenes that many of you don't see. I'm on the phone, email, etc daily organizing fabrication of parts, consulting with other pilots about various setups, etc. Soon though I'll be able to send these things out for all who want one.

I just hope Andrey can keep up with my demand

Having said all this let me add that the AZ ChopperCam "Skunkwerks" is not stopping. As soon as RaptorCam is finalized I'm moving on to a 360 front mount concept that I have been putting to paper. Sounds impossible but I think it'll work. I know that there's going to be alot of friction from the "other" people who seem to not like anything I do but I'm prepared for whatever gets thrown this way.

After that project is done there's some preliminary sketches done on a twin Kenyon stabilized front mount for gassers and large electrics. So long as my day job and the aerial video/photo work stays as lucrative as it has been the past 6 months I'll be able to keep coming at you guys with crazy new stuff.

If all goes well I'm really really hoping to get myself a CNC router, mill & lathe by next summer. That's when things are really going to go nuts around here

anyways... sorry to side step so much but just figured I'd let you all know that while I may have been squashed over at RR, thanks to HF I'm going to keep at it and as always post up publicly what my latest stupid invention is...

now, now, this is a family forum. :D

cnc's are fun. I have 2 and converting a minimill next. (so I can do heavier aluminum and steel) finding time to do everything is a chore though. CNCs are fairly affordable, but toolings and setup takes lot of money and time.

I really have not flown very much this year. (just enought to test, and really very little for fun) and I figure I will be busy at least till the weather turns. :( (I am pretty booked up for next 4 weeks from what I can see, just filling orders and finish up several projects)

I keep telling myself this is fun . :) gosh. could easily use another 40 hours a week. that is for sure.
