Hey All,

I'm trying to set up my Roxxter 33 with a GY401 and standard digital servo that comes with the kit. I was using a Futaba 9Z for the last few month on the heli and it was working fine. Recently I've been having some major electrical glitching and had to watch the heli fall out of the sky uncontrollably. I sent in the Jazz 80 to be ckecked with neg results, so I'm switching back to my Mplx Evo 9 with a Mplx DS IPD synth Rx.

I can't get the tail set up correctly and was wondering if the GY401 works correctly with a PPM/FM system and wanted to check if anyone else is flying a Roxxter with a Multiplex Evo 9/12 radio.

I've spent way to much time on this issue and just want to get back up in the air. I'm really starting to get frustrated!

Thanks for any help.

I use the 401 in both ppm and jr's spcm system and they both work fine. :D
I did run a thin wire from the tail to the chassi and further to the enginemount so that the belt could nou build up static, and that helped. I still get a little glitch now and then but not so much that it worries me, just a little wiggle at the tail about onc every other flight or so...

Hello, I use my new Evo12 and Multiplex IPD and Fusion9 (also with IPD) receivers in my Joker, Ion and L20 with zero hick-ups so far; all equipped with 401 gyros. Should work fine in the Rox as well. I still haven't mastered the radio, but what sort of problems are you having?

Chachin,

I was able to set up the 401 on my T-rex but for some reason the 401 on my Roxxter doesn't want to find the "neutral" position and the tail slider will slowly move to one side once it's set up in HH mode.
I turn it on let it initialize and the red light goes solid = HH mode. Then I add a little rudder with the rudder stick and the red light goes out (that's normal) but as soon as I return the rudder stick to the center position the red light continues to blink. At that point it should be solid. When I am hovering the heli slowly turns since the tail won't return to the "neutral" position.
The gyro is set up correctly (just like my T-rex) but for some reason the gyro wants to hunt. You'd think the higher quality servo on the tail would work easier than the Futaba 9650 I have on my T-rex.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hello Burg, make sure your Throttle Compensation (Revo Mixing) is set to off for the Rudder. Also make sure there are no trim changes to your rudder.

Have you set the Neutral point yet?? You know, set one flight mode to HH, the other to Rate. Initialize gyro in HH then flip back and forth quickly between HH and Rate at least 3 times and return to HH. Light should do single blinks as it memorizes the neutral point. It's in the 401 manual. See if it will neutralize after that if you haven't done so already.

In the "Controls" menu, what is your rudder travel set to? And what is your gyro's travel limit pot set to?

Hi, could it be that the Gyro Sensitivity is somehow influenced? That would explain why the 401 suddenly isn't in HH any more...

It'll be a mystery to me...

I've tried that as well w/out success.

In the meantime, I've sold the EVO and got a JR9303.
Best move I've done in this hobby. Very simple setup and every option I need. (Especially for heli--PCM)
Thanks for all the help guys.
