I am wondering what the viper head actually does? How does it affect performance? Do you have to do any modifications to a Tempest to fit it in the shroud?

Some opinions please.

Scott,
The Viperheads will fit in the MA fan shrouds without any modifications. It will fit in all the fan shrouds from other manufacters also I believe without any mods.

You can read all about the Viperhead here.

If you get one, I don't think you will be disappointed in it.

Scott,

I would recommend calling James (the owner of OMI) and chat to him about your setup (fuel brand, elevation, etc). He is a great guy to talk to (very knowledgeable) and can help with the testing that has been done to get the most out of the Viperhead (e.g. getting the right amount of shims added to the head based on your setup). I sent my OS C-Spec to him to modify the carb, add the Kline regulator, and Viperhead. Great service!!!
