Too funny!!!!

Yea something like that... I needed a white background that did not reflect light back to the camera. Best thing I could come up with :)

Sorry Bob, I couldn't resist, I can tell by your video's that you're a perfectionist as myself. I'm just as guilty too, I'm on the Bounty paper towel makers delivery list!

I need to have a white background to work with parts (small), it makes them easier to see and keep them clean, and yes, the white background for your video camera! Being in the electronics business, I'm constantly spraying down electronics boards and cleaning surfaces with alcohol and paper towels!

Keep a close eye on his videos! You can learn a lot!

Hey threre finless!
This maybe abit out there but as a newbie i was thinking of either a esky belt cp or the new thunder tiger mini titan the belt cp is cheaper £124 with servos motor esc and gyro but the titan more money but has a lager rotor disk and a have heard that this can make the heli more stable and better to fly.
What do you think finless bob? you seem to know your stuff.

I have never flown either at this point. All the Esky's I have seen have been junkie and I have no desire for owning one of those. The Titan is probably a better heli but until I get my hands on one I really cant say for certain.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the video on the Skyvolt/BalancePro charger-and all the others too! Can you advice on the Lipo that's had the best cycle life in your experience. I've had 5 out of 7 10s packs fail and am looking for one that'll do what it says!

Thanks in advance.

Darn... well I am still building my first Heli (Logo 14) that will be using 10S packs so I dont have a lot of experience with 10S. All I can say is Flight Power has been very good with all my other packs. Will James here is Team Captain and he stands behind flight power and provides excellent customer support. I dont think you can go wrong with them.

I would agree their service is good as they are quick to offer to replace packs. But I don't know of any that lasted more than 90 cycles. My packs only made between 53 and 72 cycles although I do have another that is currently running at 80 cycles but is getting weak. Maybe in the future you can do a side by side comparison or even with & without balance charging?

BTW here's the first ad that's committing a cycle figure ( I think it's with the BalancePro system ) and, if they last that long, they'll be really cheap to run!

Bob, Thanks for the reply. How I wished my packs are as good as yours but how many cycles do you average on a pack and how many are repaired? This is the kind of info I'm looking at before committing to more packs. My own experience as a private, club flyer, are:- seven 10S, eight 3s and four 5s packs so far and the most stand at 80 cycles and it's not FP or TP!

Just wondering if anyone has this product or knows what value the chokes are?

They can be picked up for £0.25 each, and with a bit of spare heat shrink people can install one for as little as 75p !!!

They have bands with colour coding that is identical to the colour coding on resistors.

Can anyone help me out?

Bob,

Any plan to do the build video for Mini Titan E 325?

Thanks

Finless

I WOULD LOVE TO but honestly I have spent so much out of my own pocket for the last 4 helis vids that I have done that I dont see buying a mini Titan or E-Raptor any time soon!

If Ace would donate a kit I would LOVE to do a series but alas after repeated attempts to contact them with NO response what so ever!, I have to say that I dont see this in my future videos :(

Maybe some peer pressure? Put it this way... If one showed up tomorrow I would do it ASAP as I thinkthis might be a really good heli! But my little old self cant get thier attention!

Bob, I have spent just over a week now downloading some of your videos - primarily on the 450XL HDE. Unfortunately I live in a 'dial-up only' region and the local politicians are unlikely to be able to force Cable or faster telephone access in this area. As a result, I can generally only download 1 video per night (while I sleep) as the PC is required for other reasons during the day.

Anyway, what I want to suggest is that having seen and liked your videos, for which I highly commend you for your efforts and dedication, I think that they are essentially static in nature - indeed much of the movement involves hands entering the screen and moving paper, or nuts and bolts, and can be a bit distracting when what we really need to do is listen carefully to your words.

I would like to suggest therefore that you consider putting together your tutorials (those that are essentially static in nature) as PowerPoint (or even Word) documents consisting of photographs (which can most often have better focus, detail, and lighting than video) with printed text. This will enable the viewer to study the pictures at leisure (control the rate of progress through the tutorial), rather than just seeing fleeting glimpses , and in the same way, read the text at leisure. As a side benefit, the tutorial files would be significantly smaller than the videos, quicker to download and a lot easier to reread and refer to later by searching an index to the tutorial, rather than doing fast rewinds/forwards on videos. It would also make the correcting, updating or otherwise revising a tutorial very much easier and more efficient for the producer at a later stage. As in a recent TV advert of a Senior Citizen talking to a youngster who is watching too much TV - "in my day, TV was Books"!!!! You might even consider re-doing an existing video as a photo and text trial-project and getting viewer comments and preferences - hey, as if you didn't have enough to do already right!!!!

As you may have guessed, I'm a 'Senior', as are a significant portion of our hobby .

I'd appreciate your view and comments. TTFN, GrayEagle

Great work on the vids Bob. I am just breaking into the hobby finally upgrading from a CX2 to a HB King2 my first CP heli.

I find your vids very helpfully and enticing to further upgrade my fleet of birds. You make so many things seem so simple for us newbies.

I feel after watching you videos that I could also build me my own helis in the future. All these possible after being armed by the knowledge and expertise that you and your videos provide.

Please keep up the good work and rest assure that you are winning over a lot of newbies like me to this fascinating hobby.
