Ozace - do you buy your packs locally or order from overseas. What duration do you get. I'm looking at aerial photo work...

a little heavy for hard 3d and power topped out at 1500 watts but more than enough for good sports performance.
Yeah, power is a bit low.. My T-rex 600CF with 600l peaks at 2440 watts...
I'm going to fly the 600XL tomorrow, weather permitting.
Cheers,
Richard
I dont think anyone would have said emolis would do the job for 3d, but for sport flying they certainly work well. The a123's are better and lighter but still no match for the fp4900's.
One thing that must be kept in mind about the amp draws and watts is the Align motors are not very efficient. A test was just done on a dyno that i read about where the 600l was using 200+ watts more than a neu motor for the same power output at 1600-1800 watts and it gets much worse as power rises. In effect your 2440watts is more like 2000 watts with an efficient motor

the A123s are really good, their biggest setback is they can't deliver the same flight time at the same weight, but they do perform!! I tried the 7s2p setup on the stock 600. peak voltage of the 7s pack is exactly the same as the 6s lipo, so I just charge on 6s settings on the charger. for balncing I use a TP 210 and just don't plug in the data cable to the 1010 charger. the 7s 2p setup on the stock 600 is overweight and the headspeed is down cuz the voltage under load is less than the 6s lipo, I have more experimneting to do yet, but the best part is these are SAFE. Gary Goodrum is running a 15s A123 setup is his E620 raptor and loves it... there is lots of info about them in the battery forum on RCgroups.com, and a thread on the electric heli forum there about using them in helis. they are proving to be excellent for the first generation of new battery technology. sorry, I don't have videos to prove what I am saying...

I've been following gary's raptor titan conversions (620's) using the 123 cells. Being the t600 is in the same boat swinging 600's i think there's a possibility here.
I'm putting my t600 carbon togeather right now and will be trying a hv setup using the 123 cells.
Taking ticity's advice i have a neu 1515/2y coming for a 10 cell setup.
I've had some comments reguarding balancing the t600 with 15 123 cells on it, i can see there point. I've been thinking over a few idea's but well see what happens for balance first. I did manage to get 9 emolis in the front of a swift after all
I recall a comment about the 123 cell's in 15 cell configuration being similar in weight to a 10cell lipo setup. Now i'm not sure of the capacitiy's involved but it was a good thing. If i run across the quote again i'll post it here.
For now the plan is to get 3 of the dewalt 123 packs. I know the 10 cell 123 packs in my swift will be a good thing :) and hopefully i can fit into the t600. If all fails i'll go 10 cell fp 3700's as ticity is using as it's proven.
