I went to the field today to maiden my new 700E. After I switched off throttle hold, it immediately stripped the gear (1.0M mod). The motor started extremely fast as if the soft start didn't work at all. When programming Jive, I didn't find where to adjust the soft start. Does anyone know how to do this?

Program Mode 4 = Governor, then softstart is enabled by default.
You must have been in Airplane mode (i.e. governor off)

Plug in pack, remove jumper, three tones.

Wait for 4 beeps, raise throttle to 100% (have a 0-100 curve)
Unplug pack after you get three beep confirmation.

Lower ATV to 50/50, Plug in pack, have throttle at bottom (0%)
Raise ATV until it arms, note the number (80-83% on all Spektrum), set same number at high end (83/83 on all spektrum)

Done, go fly.

Hi,
I am waiting for my Jive 80+ LV ESC and as I wait I am reading as much as I can about this ESC. What I read so far is that one should set mode 1 first (reset the esc) and then set mode 4 and to do this one should not use the prog card but the stick metode.
This becaus the ESC will learn the endpoints.
This is the first time I read that one have to calibrate the endpoints for this esc to work.
Is this only necessary if you are using a Spektum or do I also have to set ATV's on my futaba?

regards,

Progcard or Jumper, doesnt matter, it will learn endpoints, but with a overhead, i.e. you need to calibrate it with ATV to get full resolution.
Setting mode 1 first is just switching to Airplane mode (mode 1 isnt really reset, its just another mode basically)
I used to do it before, but really dont do that anymore, either works just fine ;)

Both spektrum and Futaba, dont remember values on the Futaba offhand, I have spektrum and 5 jives myself, thats why I posted the spektrum values (they are all the same on all spektrum/JR)

If you only calibrate down stick. How do you know that this value also is the same for full stick?
Do you program the ESC ones more after setting the ATV with the stick so it will learn new full stick position?
Like on my CC80 ESC when I calibrated low stick I ended up with 93% and high stick I had to set to 113%.

I read some place that the lowest value to use for throttle is 57% Is this 57% after you calibrate ATV then?

Oh and if I program my Jive and go back to mode 1 then everything is set back to default. The manual also says that Mode1 is APM and that programming the APM deletes all previous settings = Reset..

Same number on high side, if you figure out that 93 ATV on the low side, its always same on high side, i.e 93 there too.
