You might try Tower. They show the 50 mhz 14 channel recievers are due late July.

I would hope they would get 50 mhz module when they get the receivers also. Price on Cyberheli for a module for the 12/14 sells for $225 USD.

I know one person that ordered a 50 mhz module for the 12/14 thru his local hobby shop. He got it last month, it came from Futaba/Hobbico to the hobby shop.

Hi X,

These modules can only be purchased directly through the Futaba Service Center at 217-398-8970 opt 2. The price is $99.99. We can only sell these to customers who have purchased their 14MZ in the US or Canada.

Krysta,
That module works in the 12Z also. So I would think you meant purchased their 12Z/14MZ in the USA or Canada.

Does the 12Z have the software to recognize the 50 meg module?? I would assume it does, but I have not seen any confirmation of this.

My 14 works great on the 50 band. No problems at all.

The 12 has the same software as the 14. Basically only difference it does not have Windows CE as an OS.

David, sorry my error, yes, the radios have almost idenitcal software, so the same module works in the 12Z also.

As Krsta said, it is "almost identical" so I was not sure if this was also included or not. It is not totally identical. For instance, you cannot change the switch type if you change its physical location, you cannot use JR shift in PPM, and there are other basic differences. Hence my question.

But I waited a LONG time for synthesized ham band and it is too cool for school!!!

I have been using the synth 50 MHz module for quite a while now and it has been great. I had to do a frequency switch at the NATS as they had realocated my usual channel since last year. Took about 30 seconds..........Awesome!!

Can the 5014 RX be converted to 50hz by Futaba or do you just have to buy new ones?

I don't think they can be converted or it is not feasible cost wise to do.
When I have always changed frequencies (bands), it has been new module and new receivers on the new frequency band.

Dang... you would think being programmable etc, and no cyrstals and such it is just a programming change.....
