Just crashed my MX400 Pro because of something stupid. Mode was set accidently to idle-up when starting instead of normal. When I released throttle hold the heli spun up at full throttle with full negative pitch and went up over my head where I was not very comfortable flying so I crashed it into a wall trying to recover.
I would have expected it to stay on the ground and eventually break something because it would have been full negative pitch going from 0 to 100% throttle. I can only assume that it broke linkages when the surge of power was put on the heli causing the pitch to not matter. Any other ideas why it went up instead of staying on the ground and crashing there?
What was broken: Main blades, plastic main hub(snapped in the center), stabalizer bar(bent), seesaw(stripped screw threading), head linkage rods(one lost others bent), main shaft(bent), tail shaft(bent), feathering spindle(bent).
The top portion of the head came off with the blades still attached when it crashed because of the main hub coming apart and I wonder if that helped to keep from having more damage. I just ordered the aluminum hub but I am worried that instead of it breaking next time I crash the blades will just beat the copter up(only time will tell) so maybe I will go back to the plastic main hub.
