Help on modifing flight models

I am learning to fly RC for the first time using Reflex. I am building my first bird, a Trex XL and I don't think the Trex models I have downloaded off the net will match my Trex. For one thing, I have the flybar weights on. Also, who is to say that the models in Reflex have the same exact motor, blade size, weight, etc as mine? So anyway, I would like to dig into the paramters of a flight model and modify them to match what my Trex will have. Learning to fly with a flight sim I guess is helpful but the flight model is generic. It seems to me to be much more helpful if it actually simulates the model I will be flying. Isn't that what computers suppose to do? :) Any help out there?

P.S. It would be nice if the flight models on the net say what equipment they are modeling! Or is this already somewhere and I am just missing it?
