I have a new problem with my OS 60. The last 3 times I started the helicopter it will start fine then run up like I am giving it throttle, then sputter out and die. If I do give it the throttle and take off it seems to run fine but it makes taking it out to the flight line with it running a PITA.

The fuel lines are fairly new. Could it be a line going bad in the tank or something??? :dontknow

Has the weather changed ?, if so you'll need to re-tune. Sounds like the low end, normally it's just the top end that needs tweeking on weather changes, but maybe your low end was slightly out already.

Tried changing the plug (always a nice birthday pressy for an engine  )

Bad jug of fuel ?

No the fuel runs fine in the other nitro bird but I honestly do not remember the last time I changed the glow plug in it  I will put a fresh one in for piece of mind.

SO richen up the low end???

My OS 90 does that, sort-of.
When I start it the rpm climb to where you better have a good grip on the blades and then settle back down to a normal idle.
My theory is that until the pressure in the tank builds up the engine is running lean.
I have my idle mixture set very rich which may be why mine does not kill and your does.

Normally a line going bad will show up at higher speed where the flow is higher.

Well I downloaded the manual and am gonna reset the whole carb later today. Lord knows where all the needle valves are now. I have been twisting them all over the place trying to deal with this heat and still get power.

Heat and power do not go together, you get one or the other.

Come on winter! :glasses2:

Thanks all a new glow plug and resetting the mixute screw fixed it.

Although, I could not get the mixute screw to stay in place so I put a drop of CA on it to hlod it in place. How do I get that thing to stay tight (the right way)? :?

Dan, the low end screw shouldn'd move very easily, as it's pretty well held in place by the "C" shaped "Thing".

And the main needle should have a "spring clip" that sits against the Knurling of the grip, maybe that's missing ?

If either of these have been moving, that'll be your underlying issue.

Well one spring clip was broken and I had another one of those I replaced. The C-clip is there on the mixture screw but does not seem to effective.
