Why would you need a notary public?
Has someone been telling you stories???
I believe both Gary Travis and Greg Alderman will be there to sign off the Turbine CD requirement. The other sign off can be done by any CD. Both of which do have to witness your flight test.
The problem here is that it takes appx 10 days for the paperwork to get processed, so even if you get signed off at IRCHA, you may still NOT be able to FLY a turbine at IRCHA.

Chris,
If the Turbine sign off was done on Thursday early. They could take the paper work over to AMA HQ. Don't think they AMA will get the waiver issued that quick, but I may be wrong.
I did my Turbine waiver sign off at the Nats couple of years ago. I went to AMA and turned in all the paper work. I had the Waiver certificate two days after I got home from the Nats. I did the flight test the day before I left Muncie. Probably would have to call AMA and ask. But once they do check flight and are signed off. Being it is at the AMA. They may issue a temporary waiver till the original arrives. Just a thought. But it would have to be done early Thursday morning.

Dr. Tim will be there too, maybe a day or two early if you want to try that route.

just saw the line on the AMA form for Notary signing,
Is this the form your looking at?
http://www.modelaircraft.org/PDF-files/510-F.pdf
I don't see Notary signing mentioned on it anywhere.
Also your not covered by AMA till you get the Turbine waiver no matter where you fly it.

I realize that now, I had printed all the forms pertaining to turbines and saw the notary thing on the fixed wing form when I went back and looked at the heli form I saw it was not on that form lousy memeory I guess.

Shipmate, we all go through that from time to time. If I were going to make it this year, I would be more than happy to help get you signed off, however I know there will be a bizillion, very qualified individuals to get you "good to go."

The whole purpose is safety. If you have good safe preflight, and flying skills, whatever they be, you should not have any problem. Remember those maneuvers on the PDF are suggested, not mandatory. There is not one mandatory maneuver.

Thanks Heli Jack, I can fly with no problem with orientation nose on or what ever. I fly UAV helicopters for a living so I tend to get a lot of orientation practice I am looking forward to flying the turbine at my regular field. Craig

Cool Craig, it is such a rush to fly a turbine. You will do fine.
