Since I installed a Kontronics Jazz ESC (40 amp) and the NUE 1107-2Y motor, the performance has been a problem. All the fields I fly over are now too small. You see, the 400 is so fast, I have trouble keeping it close enough to see it well.

Anyway, I plan to go from Sab 305mm blades to Sab 320mm today. With the amount of power the motor has, I feel like it will be comfortable swinging the longer blades. Also, I expect the longer blades to give better stability.

However, I am concerned with the tail authority. Right now the stationary piro rate is pretty good but, I've noticed when I piro in fast forward flight, it is pretty leisurely. I'm not sure if the tail blades are too short, if the tail blade speed is to slow or if the servo is under powered (Futaba S3110).

I went to my LHS this am and picked up some Sab 320s. I have not flown them yet except a quick test in the backyard.

Of course I was doing a little auto test with these big blades and had a minor boom strike. Everything is ok but, there is a dent in the boom.

I have found its best to go with the red dampers in the head with longet blades to stiffin it up. Did you extend your boom to fit the 320's? I'm thinking of extending mine but more for balancing then a larger disk. How well do the sab's track, I'm running align cf blades now and there tracking is crapy. Can only get close, all my other blades track in just fine just not the align cfs. Yes they are balanced just not that great of blades.

I use these because they are inexpensive. I prefer the HeliMax long carbon boom but, I break too many and they are too expensive. How well do the sab's track, I'm running align cf blades now and there tracking is crapy. The Sabs track great. They are expensive but, well worth the cost for me.

Thanks. as for booms I run align cf booms. They only run me $11 usd. Have had 2 boom strikes with no breaks. With cf its eather good or broken.

HEY! just the people I wanted to find.

I am going to stretch the tailboom as well, using an Align TREX aluminum boom, and I would like to know which belt will fit the TREX tailboom length, and the MX400 pro tail drive gears?

If I kinda lost you, then

My question is about the teeth on the tail belt, and if the teeth on the Align tail belt will fit the MX400 tail gears.

The TRex XL belt and the Helimax/ARK long belts will both work. Using the pro tail drive gears will not be a problem.

For me the Helimax long tail belt (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLLK1&P=7) is better than the Align belt.

The Align belt is 347mm and the Helimax is 345mm. Those 2mm are not important.
