Looks like the rear intake would be a problem. It would need the ground clearance and a custon intake to keep trash out. I bet it would perform well though.

Hey Pepper,...................How goes things??
I really hope that you find some good things out about using the "Roto"
The reason: At the bottom of the spec page for the roto it mentions ZDZ
I happen to have a twin cylinder gas ZDZ motor of 120cc displacement that I have been thinking would make a great copter motor
Like the roto, my ZDZ 120 has the computer controlled ignition advance
It's currently in my "Plank" A 42 lb "Taildraggin" Mono plane, with a 12 foot wing. Real easy to see in flight!!
I was going to run the engine inverted (With the carb inlet pointing up) so the clearence /dirt problem shouldn't be quite so prominent.
Best of Luck at ya'....................Dave
A buddy of mine bought the roto for a plane he is building. I don't know how it performs yet but it's a very nice looking engine from all I could see without tearing it down. The rear intake could be a problem, but do it like they do on a Humvee with an intake stack :)

Get with Richard on RR his ID is VOR503F. He has been messing around with one on a heli and can fill you in on his success. :D
