Dj; I'm not sure on the weight, but that lump of lead mounted to the camera plate are 1kg, and I've flown it quite easily with an EOS 350D and Sigma 10-20mm lens. The lead is just for ballast when not carrying a camera.
I guess the mount is a little heavier than yours as my tubes are a little longer I think, and I left a big HDPE plate on the front of the servo tray for no other reason than my rx and governor controller was sitting there...
Wes; theres been vibes to fight, mostly due to setup of the heli, but it's beginning to look good now. Haven't had the time to work on it for quite some time, flew it for the first time in two weeks today.
Most people would probably say the vibes remaining are not really a problem, but they are to me. I want to make my nitro powered pics look as if they were taken from a really big tripod...
Think I'll try moving the spring loaded dampers more towards the front and see what happens.
