Hello, all.
I am looking for some advice on normal operating temperature for a 231. I have a regular 231 almost done with it's first gallon of gas and Lawn Boy. I am a little bit concerned with the temp though. When I land and check my temp gauge, it read 330 F max temp. Everyone at the field seemed to think that this is quite high? My manual from Miniature Aircraft says that it can go up to 325 F.
Also if I richen up the needle, does that help cool the engine down or does it give it more power, therefore heating it up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated it.
Thanks in advance

Opening the screws will help the engine run cooler. If you open them up too much the engine will not run as good and run rough. When you start noticeing that then you could probabaly close the screws down a little. I see that you are in Omaha. I am in DesMoines and it has been very hot around hear. In the 90's so 330 might be normal in these temps. Hopefully someone else will say something. I don't know for sure what my engine temp is since I haven't checked it since I got my engine tuned and running good but I would guess it is around 300 on the exhaust side of the engine.

Thanks for the sugestion. The engine is running quite strong and smooth for being on the first gallon. You can't tell that it is a gas heli at all. I just hate to mess with the needles. But if I have to, I will.
