AMAZING ENGINE
Guys, just to share with you, I am just amazed with the YS91.

I canīt believe the power this baby has. I followed all the instructions as it states in the manual and after a few tanks(6 tanks) it was time to give it a real try. I leaned all the needles (following the manual) and for my surprise the engine never bog even when I completely moved the sticks to the corners at full pitch (-11, +11). TONS OF POWER AND REALLY SMOOTH!!!!

The Gear Ratio I am using is 8.45 in my tempest with a MPII, now I am thinking on buying a new SB16 TB Special, do you think it is worth to get one??? :?:

Thanks,

Vic :)

What head speed and fuel are you running? Mine doesn't seem to be makin as much power as yours.

Hi ClaySmith,

I am using Powermaster 30% heli blend, and my headspead is at 1780 rpms.

You may check your needles acording to the manual, itīs a very friendly user engine if you follow the instructions.

Thanks, I'm using the 8.27 ratio on my raptor, I think I'll change it back to 8.45 and give the SB-16 a try.

Vic,
I felt the same way when I first tried my YS 91.
If you feel the need, there is even more smoothness and power on tap by adding the Viper head to it.
I thought mine was running perfect but the Viper head made it even better.
I have heard that the Viper head has not worked for some but I have nothing but good results from it.

I agree about the Viperhead on the YS 91. I tested the prototype Viperhead for the YS 91. The first flight after I bolted it on, I was impressed with how much smoother the engine ran. We messed around with head shims for several flights to find the right combination. What we found was the .004 shim worked the best. Motor produced good power and was smooth. You might consider a Viperhead if your looking for a litte more performance.

Hey Furycham,

What are your needles at using PM30%?

I'm using the same stuff with a viperhead and seem to be way richer than the coolpower guys.

Sorry everybody for being a little late!!

Since I am flying at 8000f ASL I donīt think you will be ok with the needle settings I am currently using but anyway here they are:

Low: 0.5
Hover: 1.5
Full: 0.75

Thatīs the way I use them, but as you already know I am pretty close to the skies, so being more close to sea level will make you richen the neddles.

Hope it help guys,

Vic :D
