Hi all, bought a shuttle second hand (which upto now has produced some good deals) This looked to be a bit of a heap, but turns out its ok.

Went to start it up for the first time today and no luck, just wont start. I've checked for needle settings specific to this engine but to no avail. Has anybody go some that they know would work with this engine as a starting point.

I'm going to try 1 1/2 on the low and 2 on the high, does it sound about right?

cheers

Just a thought but have you checked the glow plug and glow ignitor to make sure they are working?

Also make sure you have good compression.

What type of fuel are you using? Is this a 2 needle carb?

Hi, I put in a new glowplug when it wouldnt start, the glow starter is fine, have 3 to choose from.

the fuel is going in and then back out of the engine through the exhaust, It seems to have very very good compression the engine looks nearly new its spotless.

2 needle carb 1 easily ajusted by a click screw and the other in the centre of the throttle arm on the carb. I'm running on 12% nitro

I have had glow engines before in cars years ago but I'm new to helis, athough I have a rossi 61 and an OS 61 in my two Varios but cant find any info specific to irvine hence the question.

Thanks again

Problems over went with the guesstimated settings and fired straight up had to richen it up a little as it was going to melt but now nice and smooth plenty of power and loads of smoke. RESULT

Now If I crash while training it dosnt cost me vario prices yippee!

See ya
