I will start with some mods I've done. If you can include partnumbers for what you got.

First is a comomn mod, The align head mod. For mine I used the align head block HS1071 , seesaw HS1072, seesaw cage HS1086, Flybar rod HS1006, and a set of cf paddles for trex.

Second is a simple mod to house the gov switch on my esc. Simply cut out of some plastic that you can get from the train section at your lhs

The Third one is simple and only requires a sharp hobby knife. I cut the canopy where it looks like a jet intake to help cool the lipo and esc.

And last I just used a heavy needle and thick tread to sew a velcro strap to the velcro on the bat tray.

Now lets see what you have done.

I've added some metal to the head and installed a Microheli main gear:

kenpsych, did you remove the anodizing on that head or is that after market? It looks sweet. Also is that micro heli maingear making a good differance? Nice job on the mods

Just Trolling. Choosing helis is like choosing between coke and pepsi.

Raven,
Thanks but, that alloy head was stock for my Helimax MX400Pro. The main gear is nice, it's straight as a pin and it looks good in green. It also makes a "meaner" sound when flying. The gear material is harder and probably causes a different type of sound resonance. It did not survive my recent crash as the motor pinion ate a couple of notches in the gear...

That happens. Do you have thrtl hold on your tx? If so hiting it just befor a crash will save the main gear. I have ben thinking of geting that as a spare main and now think I will.

Yes, I have throttle hold. The only problem in that instance was that I never even saw the heli hit the ground as my eyes were briefly turned away.

Custom built gyro top mount, needed to make room on the stock gyro tray for an EagleTree logger and try to keep the gyro out of reach of the fly bar at the same time.
This is just the test fit pic wire routing still need to be cleaned up and the other electronics reinstalled.

I have a quick question. I have my MX400 Pro on order and have a bunch of mods I want to do to it. I like mine a little different and want to paint the canopy. I was curious of what paint works the best to paint it. I can airbrush pretty well and will post pics when I get it done.

I paint alot of plastic cansand use testors paint for them. first sand with 400 grit wet/dry (dry) and finnish with 600 grit (wet). Take your time and do it right or it wont hold. After sanding clean it with isopropal (use powder free gloves) to remove dust and oils. Apply a primer coat carring it around to the inside, this keeps the paint from flaking at the edges. then paint how you wish. The model pain seems to work great on the plastic. Finnish up with a healthy clearcoat. It will take more care then a fg or cf can but cost alot less and not be as bad on your heart in a crash. Also testors makes a print your own decal kit. This works great, If you look at the pinup girl on mine, in my gallery, its done with that kit but a differant program. Also you can buy stuff to put in the paint to keep it flexible but so far the testors seem to do fine without it.

Here's my "budget" no parts needed, top gyro mount mod: :glasses2:

I may have to drill the two front holes but for now it holds quite well...

Its looking good ken, nice seeing all that red. Hows that fly? I know the alumi parts give more pitch and cyclic (playing with parts on other 400's).

In a word or two, "more responsive" on both collective and cyclic. Just a more crisp response on the controls. And yes, it does look good! Here's a couple of pics with the all "red head":

I am getting my MX400 Pro on Monday from Tower Hobbies. I can't wait to do that to mine! FYI Tower hobbies has a good deal going on right now on those, they have the Pro for $249.99, then minus a $20.00 instant rebate for spending $150.00 or more, then a $40.00 rebate from Helimax. Just thought I would let you guys know. I can't wait to get it in the air!
