Hi, everyone. It took me only a little tweaking, about 5 short flying sessions, to get my Pixy Zap dialed in. It's 166g plus 37g for the Eflite 7.4v 800mah pack. I flew it a few times on the brushed motor, then Helihobby got the brushless in stock. Add a CC Phoenix 10, and you have quite a machine. Still flying the semi symmetrical blades, pulling 5-6amps at hover, 9.2 amps max, and super fast headspeed (was 4100 with the brushed, 4200 with the RCMart brushless 15t). The servos are the Pino MG from RcMart, cause they're the only ones that fit in the narrow slots. However, the tail servo wasn't happy so I squeezed an HS-50 into the frame (same weight as Pino) and no more tail twitches. I can't say enough how cool this little heli is. It does great in FF, and I will be doing some of that in the local indoor fly ins here! http://home.att.net/~miles-lora/wsb/media/47782/site1322.JPG

Hi,
I went with the Pino 6g metal gear servos from Asia. $25 each, but they creamed me on the shipping. That's the only servo that I could find that fits in the narrow frame cutouts. However, the tail servo was twitchy, so I put an HS-50 in the frame with servo tape. That fixed it. I use a caseless Electron 6, because the Berg 7s aren't out yet, and I bought a super light base loaded antenna on Ebay. The brushless is a 4700kv from Helihobby that comes from the same marketing group as the helicopter, RCmart. Comes with 15t pinion installed, just plug and play. It's OK, but I want to try something different. It seems like it has a loose bearing after only 20 flights or so. I tried the symmetrical blades but they need a lot of pitch to take off. I think it flies better with the semi-syms on it, but then no 3d? I love this little heli despite a few annoying tendencies, and it sure gets a lot of comments in public. Good luck! hope this helps

What gyro are you using?

Hi, I'm using the EvoFlite heading lock micro gyro. It's very light and has remote mode select. Between that and the double bearing tail pitch slider, it all but eliminated tail wag problems I had at first. I also mounted it in an unconventional place but that may have also helped as it's almost centered on the main shaft. I also upgraded the rotor head and grips to CNC,from flying-hobby.com, and installed wooden blades from helihobby. I stayed with the RCmart motor, it's doing well after many flights. This little helicopter flies very well, especially for its size. http://home.att.net/~miles-lora/wsb/media/47782/site1335.JPG

So this heli is also known as the Micro Zoom and Pixy Zap and the Shogun Im confused..

They are all the same as near as I can tell. Hobbypeople markets it as the Shogun Midget, and theirs comes with a brushless. Mine had a brushed motor, and I got it from Helihobby as a Pixy Zap, some people call it the mini Zoom. The main difference I can see is the decals.

Been real curious about this little machine and would love to talk.
Thanks!

Hi, I.C.O.N. I'm selling it on Ebay right now because I just ordered a Pro version and I can't afford both!
Search pixy zap and you'll see it. This would be an inexpensive way to try one and see if you like it. I just flew it and can't believe how cool it is.
Cheers!
Have you found this heli available in the states anywhere, it seems hobby people took it off their site and heli hobby only has the normal and not pro version.

Well, I have found the same thing you have. The main shaft is longer, but most of the other parts that Helihobby carries are interchangeable. The shipping from Asia is a lot, about $17 for a parts order, but quite fast. The Pro is neat, I put a 3800kv motor on it and run 3 cells, but it's grounded due to a crash. I just got it flying well when I had an electrical failure due to my own mistake. Helihobby has trouble keeping the wooden blades in stock. Upon arrival of my next Asian parts order, I'll post some pics and a flight review. There are some on Ebay, and the frame is flexible, it slides and adjusts for many types of servo. But make sure you take out all of the screws that are on metal parts and loc tite them.
cheers

Some long threads over on RC Groups. It seems most people are buying from www.flying-hobby.com Seems like a very reliable store.
The eBay seller tends to be RCMart, and from what Ihave read, watch the total cost (heli plus shipping) as he tends to dsiscount for eBay and then bump the shipping up.
The Pro model will fit other servos, but I have heard good things about the ones supplied by Flying Hooby.

I have been toying with the idea of buying one of these helis....once I convince my financial adviser that one more won't hurt :D I've been doing my homework on this heli and have found a seller here in the US. From what I can tell it is the pro version with carbon or maybe G10 and aluminum parts.
www.aeromicro.com
They call it the Gaui 100SE and it sells for $199.00 Looks like they have everything inhouse to get it in the air. Now I just have to beg er I mean convince my wife to let me buy one

I love my MiniZ pro, I got it from http://www.Flying-hobby.com Fung and his crew are great. I have never had a problem with them and they respond very quick via e-mail. If you're unsure about dealing out of the States don't be, shipping is fast and you still save money. I am new to flying heli's the one before this was a Blade CX2 it was great for starters but I needed more. This MiniZ probably wasn't the best choice for a beginner but I'm finding my way around it and as said before I love it. I to am waiting for parts :arggg: it seems that Fung is running out of parts, hope he gets stock soon.

The Pixy Zap, Mini Zoom, Firefox, and EP100 are all the same and made by Gaui Hobby.
AeroMicro seems to be the only U.S. distributor that actually stocks parts at the moment, but only for the Pro version, which is the fiberglass and CNC version.
I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Fung at Flying Hobby, but the shipping is expensive, minimum $15 per order.
Here's my EP100 Pro:

hello everyone, I just purchased a pixy zap from heli hobby about a month ago and wanted to ahre my setup with you all..(Just in case you are interested)...
-3x dymond D4.7g servos
-1x hitec hs-50
-bergh7p rec.
-Align heading hold gyro
-Castle creations 10A
-Dymond 300DH brushless outrunner w/22t pinion (kv3150)
-15C apex 7.4V 850mAh Li-Po
**AUW= 200.7g***
I was originally using a 14t pinion on the motor and felt i needed more.after searching for a larger pinion w/no luck I finally ran along GWS gearbox w/400 size motor in it and realized it had the same gear pitch as my pixy..Much much better..Only pulling 3.5A in a hover and about 6A at full power..and still had some power to spare. first flight was great!!! Got about an 8min flight before i landed and im sure I still had some time to spare.havent flipped it over yet but am looking forward to it!!!

Hi, I am new to these little guys and not very experienced. I seem to be having trouble with the set up. I have the same EP-100 Pro. Some of the post's I've read seem to blame the workmen ship of the helicopter. I was wondering how yours is flying and what tips you could give me on set up.

I'm running a 15 tooth pinion, brushless motor that came with it, stock Spektrum S75's for swash plate, and Hitec HS-55 for the tail. I had to dump
the S75 servo. It caused wicked tail wag. After replacing it the wagging stopped. I think a lot of my problem is lack of knowledge. Not knowing what is what I just learning as I go. I plan to ditch the stock Spektrum servo's also. I was told they don't respond to quickly that's why I had the tail wag issue. The other prob. I have is tail drift I have to give it some rudder to keep the tail still. I know that's not right. So I welcome any input from you guy's who know what you're doing and can " LEARN ME "
