Hi,

Guys, please think with me. I have a weird problem.

I have a brand new T-Rex 600 ESP. After about six flight my motor was way to hot to touch and smelled awefull. My hobby shop has replaced the motor and tested my ESC. I was able to fly again without problems. But now I suddenly have the following problem.

After flying for two minutes I landed the heli because I noticed my tail blew out a bit. So I landed and went back to 0% throttle to check my gyro settings. Then I tried to spool up the heli again, but it did not spool up at all! It only turned a little bit and made a weird noise like it only has 1-2% throttle to spool up. So, it is trying, but cannot get past soft-start.

I tried everything. I have reconnected everything, battery and bec, but no result. After 10 minutes disconnected I tried it again and it spooled up again. No problems during flight. But I landed, went to 0%. Then tried to spool up again, again the same problem!!!! Now, whatever I do, the heli will not spool up.

At home I again checked all wires, joints and such. But I cannot find it. I suspect the ESC is failing.

Have you seen this problem before?

Sounds like the Align Electronic gremlins are @ their dirty work again, might be your ESC is on its way out or the motor is suffering from being cooked, either way it appears you've joined the club of Align failed electronics

Yes, at first I had no problem with Align ESC. Everybody was/is complaining about it, but I didn't have a problem. Now I am not so sure about it anymore.

I just wonder if my ESC is the problem. They replaced my motor. But maybe my motor is not ok. How can you tell.

My hobby shop asked me to send it back, they will check it and replace it. The last time it took almost two months. It is summer and I am not going to wait that long. So I have orderd a brand new Align ESC elsewhere. I do not have specific choice of a other brand yet. But it really sucks.

Now you see why most swap out for a CC110HV ESC and replacement motor..

If your motor smelled then theres a good chance the motor failed and took out the ESC. if you already have one esc on order atleast youll have back up. if you get a good one it should last a long time. mines over a year old and except for soft start not working [common issue] its been great

Ok, guys... I have a brand new ESC. And I have EXACTLY the same problem!!!

:Fan

Really, I think I'm gonna cry. I have really tried everything. Eventually I have connected another 75A ESC just for testing and then everything runs fine, even with my motor. What ever I do, if I connect one of the two 100A ESC's from Align I have, the motor makes a weird noise and does not get passed soft-start.

:arggg:

This is the first time the Align electronics gave on me. I hate that!

I'm going for support from both vendors. (where I bought the heli and where I bought the second ESC). But I am seriously thinking about getting another brand.

Did you install a replacement Align ESC???..if so you just took the crap shoot, My suggestion is order a CC110HV and begin looking into a replacement motor

Yes I did. The CC110HV may be ok, but as far as our experience CC does not deliver as promised. But I will look at it. Maybe the new ICE is an option. On the otherhand I am looking at Kontronik, but these are very expensive.
