I started a new thread to capture these since I know there are a few more 100% true stories floating around. I copied these two in as starters.

Hello Bob,
Been a fan since I saw your T-Rex build videos. Both yourself and the Helifreak community have been (and are) a great source of info.
I put together a couple of simple avatar ideas... I hope to come up with something with a little more pizzazz. More to follow.
Thanks,
Gary

Sgt_BF_Gunner, not bad I like the far right one but as I said I am PICKY... I would like something a little animated and it really doesnt need to day FINLESS as my posts will have that name... Good ideas though!
All... I know I seem LAME about this but I want something to JUMP out at me and for me to say "YES.. this is what I will use from now until I die!".
I am just not creative enough so I am looking at you all to WOW me....
The give away heli is somthing I will probably give to the best choice if I use the Avitar or not but....
HOWEVER, I am STILL looking! Nothing yet has "grabbed me".
Thanks Sgt_BF_Gunner but it doesnt JUMP out at me. Please dont be discouraged... try again :)

Nice but sorry... It just doesnt "grab me".... I need something that ROCKS and works with my personality....
I will still give away the HDE Trex to the best idea but I still have not seen anything that just JUMPS out at me as something I will use from now on to eternity!
Good work all but I need better!
But I will give the kit to the best submitter regardless if I use it or not.....

Bob,
Help us help you
Tell us what it is to be Finless. What spins your blades? I'm not asking you to design it. That's our job. Do you like funny? Impressive? subtle? twisted? What are your favorite movies, books, non-R/C heli activities...?
Are you wanted in several states (we never see your face in your famous videos)?
I notice you latched onto the buttUglyDog and the buttUglyFish. Maybe a trend there (yet you seem to have a lovely wife :dontknow )
Must find a theme...

Hmmm Spork.. these are good questions!
So let me do my best...
What it is to be finless... Hmmm that’s a tuff one but I will answer. I LOVE to learn new technical stuff and then try learn it so well I become "knowledgeable". But I only do this with technical stuff I find enjoying to me! PC's, Heli's, Sailing gear, or any NEW tech that is coming along.... I tend to try and stay current with any new technology. Then what I like to do is talk about it with others, discuss it, and share and teach when I can... So that’s me in a nut shell and anyone that knows me personally I think would agree that’s me ( I tend to walk the walk and talk the talk. e.g. be honest to everyone and be myself like it or not!).
I also like Astronomy, Science, Anthropology, Archeology, and Ancient history.
I love FUNNY AND I LOVE freaky originality..... Most people will tell you even in my real job I can’t go 10 minutes without making some kind of joke about something. So yea I like funny WAY more than anything serious... Unique and something different is all me... That’s what I want :)
Your right I don’t like showing my face (that’s my theme :) ) so those avitars that show my face probably wont work for me unless there is something really cool about it.
Theme.... Well I have none really..... Finless name doesn’t need to be a theme PLEASE... It's just a stupid handle.... Theme... Hmmm... well let me tell you a story I found interesting while in Manager Level 2 training last year.
I was told a story about something that I found enlightening and hit me in a profound way. It is about how you project yourself to others vs how you feel about yourself internally. This was something that when I was young vs now I feel now hit a cord.
The story about Charles Nobel"
Charles Nobel's brother died and a few days later read the paper and saw an obituary. It was his own as the paper got it wrong! They thought Charles had died but it was his brother. The obituary read "Charles Nobel died xxx.... He was one of the founders of the most destructive weapon (TNT) capable of killing more people in the history of man" He was distressed by this as he had just read his own obituary! He realized this is how people would see his "contribution" after he died and was not happy with this. So you know he decided to do something about this and created the "Nobel Prize"
How many people now know he was a founder of TNT? NO ONE! But everyone remembers what the Nobel Prize is!
So this story struck me and so you know caused me to start my "sharing" videos... I felt it was important that I do what I like to do and make sure others see me the way I am and want to be seen.... I LOVE to TEACH!
So this was rather deep and all... But you now all know my motivation. I do what I do because I love doing it and in the end isn’t that what we all should be doing?
So my avatar needs to try and do something along these lines I guess? I am TOTALY open though! I want it to be fun! I just don’t know which is why I am willing to give up a kit I paid for out of my own pocket to give to someone that is more creative than I.....
So did this help? Probably not ;)

Well, almost no one. That's one of those fun facts that you sometimes find shaking around. But it's true - you don't think of "Nobel dynamite Inc."
So did this help?
Yup. I'm no artiste, but I bet this gets someone moving in the right direction. It's good to get into your rarely seen head in any case.

More head speed = more kilobytes.

I'm working on a few idea's and will post soon....
I have a software question.
What type of gif animation program are you using to make your's with? I have tried a few shareware gif programs but the file compression is not very good producing files 14kb-18kb in size no matter what color range options I play with.
Thanks

Garrett,
Paint Shop Pro - Jasc Software now Corel I believe...
It's a good commercial program, I still haven't learned all the nooks and crannies yet.
