I have a rudder problem with my heli in that the heli spins in idle up but is fine in hover mode.
Am I right in that the trims in idle up are separate from the trims in hover mode but the sub trims are the same.
Also what is the correct procedure for binding. I am not convinced the manual gives the correct procedure it talks about a green light on the receiver mine doesnt have a green light or a blue one.

I just bought a new set, and the LED in my receiver is orange. Maybe they ran out of green - - actually, orange is probably cheaper. Everything ran fine after binding, so I don't think the different color indicates anything is wrong.

Flymo,

Yes, the trims are separate in all 3 modes (Normal, Stunt and ThrottleHold).

The Rx LED colour changed (new ones are orange). Green is the colour of the LED on the rear of the Tx, inside the bind button.

The procedure is simple:

1) Power of Rx and Tx
2) Insert bind plug into Bat socket on Rx
3) Turn on Rx power
4) Press and hold bind button on rear of Tx and turn on Tx. Hold bind button for about 5s until Rx LED and bind button LED go steady

Done :-)

I had the same problme with my Spektrum.

Normal mode fine, Idle 1 spin.

It was a very simple problem. I have a gyro with remote gain (GY401) and switching to Stunt mode (Idle1) was also switching the gyro mode.

I reassigned expo ail and ele to the left front toggle, and gyro (gear) to the right toggle. You then leave the right toggle well alone - for ever. Now you are not switching the gyro mode when changing flight modes (by default, the DX6 sets the gyro switch to be shared with the flight mode (left top) switch

I used this trick from dodgey to figure out my brothers DX6 problem of gear being on the flight mode switch, thanks dodgey! Helped me almost a year after you said it.

I found another inacuracy in the DX6 Manual on page 80 (i think). It says that THS is fixed at 100% and cannot be changed. this is not true the THN setting = the THS setting I checked this with a servo and the horn stayed in the same position at full stick no mater what % I set in THN.

Correct.
