Anyone successfully replace the connector on the tail rod with a ball link? If so what size ball and screw did you use? I looked but there didn't seem to be enough clearance for a nut as well.

I thought of doing that when i built mine but I have not got around to it yet. I think it is a good idea and will do it one day soon.

I had some Logo balls and a ball link that I used seemed to work, but I have only hovered mine once last night in the dusk

-i used one of the ball links from the antenna tube.
-a ball was lying around from my Vibe.
-normal (no self-secured) M2 nut has enough clearance to tailcase.
So no problem at all.
Can post picture if requested...

I used a Hirobo ball, as I just rebuilt my Evo at that time. Works fine. :D

You could also just put a little piece of shrink tubing over the clevis to prevent accidental opening and leave it as is till the pin develops some slop.

Mine had slop after 4 flights :(
MarcelYup, just checked mine and it has a bit of slop after 6 flights. Time to put in a ball joint.
Thanks Marcel for making me check this.

Hello,
It is the first thing that came to my mind when i looked to the first photos of this heli. How could it use a clevis on the tail? Carbon frame, metal rotor head but no ball link at the tail. I don't have a lepton for now (im waiting for the initials problems to be solved by hirobo. And for some motor pinions to be available...) but change this clevis for a ball link is on my "to do list".

I have replaced my clevis with a ball link, but the M2 nut runs very close to the tail case, and I am concerned about glitching if it actually rubs. Has anyone who uses a ball link got over this problem?

Yep that was one of the first things I replaced. I got rid of the tiny push wire and made a new push rod with a 3mm cf tube and epoxyed ball in Hirobo ball links.

I replaced mine with a Hirobo ball link before the first flight.
I also did the support bracket for the tail.

Looks good, but how much clearance do you have between the nut on the tail lever ball & the metal tail case? mine is bery close and I am worried that if it rubs metal to metal it could cause glitches.
Cheers

just dremel it down so it won't touch the tail case
