Can you rebuild the 3517 servo with the metal gear set? I've got a really good deal on the price of some 3517's cheap, and if the metal gear sets will drop in I can have some really killer servo's for 1/2 the cost of 3517mg's.

I think they should work also. Also the DS3517 and the DS3400g have the same spec. So I would think it could be used as tail servo. Also both can be used at 6v.
A Main Hobbies has them on sale for around $32 and the normal price is $79.

I'm getting 3 new ones for $26 each with gear sets running $22 a set. I bought hitec 5245s because of the price, now I can have the servo's I wanted and hold the hitec's for another bird.:thumbup:
