I recently did a review and flight report on this new offering from www.hobby-lobby.com, so far I have about 35 flights on it, still going strong. The street price for the complete package including brushless motor, ESC, Lipoly battery, Lipoly charger, 6 Channel Transmitter and receiver, allen wrenches, training gear, FMS CD-Rom is $299.00. I've heard through the grapevine that they will soon release metal upgrades but so far they are not available. To see the review go here; http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=535486&highlight=Falcon+3D. This is a real bargain for the price, and as I said in the review, it flies like it's on rails!!

I see that Hobby Lobby now has the Falcon 3D back in stock (they were backordered for a while) ... along with a fresh supply of spare parts ... I ordered one about two weeks ago so should be getting mine soon ...
... it has all the features that I was looking for ... I look forward to giving it a whirl ... :glasses:

I was wondering how close this is to the shogun. It looks VERY similar if so I and Jappausa.com offer upgrades ;)

Not sure exactly which parts are exchangable, but I too think it's very similar to the Shogun. I'll check out your sites as I work to make any upgrades. I think the main difference from the Shogun is the horizontal tail drive gear directly above the main rotor drive gear, looks to be an improvement over the vertical tail drive gear which was driven directly by the motor pinion. I'm think that a belt drive tail conversion for the Shogun (such as the V1 to V2 upgrade) should fit, but not sure of that.
Other differences, of course, are being RTF with brushless motor, HH Gyro, TX and RX etc. I plan on seeing how the servos do, but may upgrade those at a later date if needed. I also like the ball links instead of "Z" bends for the tail pushrod.
Thanks for the links darkside212.

Hi Gary,
Great review on the Falcon 3D, Regarding the Tp 2100 battery your using. Is it the 3 Cell 2100 mAh battery that gives you the 14 min flight time? Also can you charge the Tp battery on the charger supplied with the Falcon? Cheers
Wayne.
