Does using a 61T front gear provide a stronger gear train?? I'm not looking to do anything wicked, I'm just looking for durablity. I guess with a gaui 850 kv motor, I would need a 22t revco pinion for a 1900 HS (about) unless I upgrade the motor. So what do you guys think?? Will it be worth it or not?? Thanks :cheers

I personally don't think you need to go that route....I run both a Z20 and Z30 ship....

the 50t front gives enought tooth contact for a solid gear train....

The 42t is still working fine with my Z20 and a 14t pinion...

Check out the HS calc in my signature line.....it will give you the hs with dif gears.

Use about 85 - 90% eff.....

Since gaui has improved the gear material I can't remember the last post about blowing gears....

and....(in fact this is a big and....so)

AND....revco gears are a different and smaller modulus than gaui gears...therefore...foursooth and fifthwhiff....you need to run a revco pinion with a revco first gear.or it wilst not work.verily.......

i shitith thou notith....:smokin:

OK, if I run a revco first and pinion will I need to run a revco main and tail gear???

running a revco is going to be kinda hard to do since I don't thinkis stocking the pinions for them anymore..

the whole purpose of the revco gears was because the ORIGINAL Gaui gears were soft and would strip in flight.. Gaui corrected that problem and all 42T gears now have the OK stamp (50T and 60T have always been new formula plastic)... with the gear issue corrected..

skip the revco gears...use the Gaui gears.. there's plenty of gear there and you won't be stripping them in flight (Like in Finless Bob's video)
