Well, after my last post I spent countless time on G2 working on nose in and side in hovering so I can get into foward flight, and last night I tried it on my heli at my flying field. To make a long story short I DID IT!!!. when I got home my hands were still shaking so much that I couldn't type. Thanks for all of the encouragement!! Foward flight here I come!

Sweet...That Sim sure does shorten the curve...First time up on anything RC after about 3 months of sim time first I was able to hover nose in. Then I had to relearn everything after orientation "Box" traing and got so use to tail in....
Enjoy it dude...
Remember...Baby steps... dont try to progress faster than what is safe for you and others  If your orientation is sketchy somewhere work on that area and master it before moving on.

Hey congrats LynnJ,

There isn't anything like that first flight ! I also used the G2 for about 2 months before I flew my heli, I think it really speeded things up for me also. Being an old guy (compared to all the youngsters in this hobby) I needed all the help I could get !!!

Quite a sense of elation, isn't it?

I can only think of three other events in my life that compare to that First Heli flight.

My first R/C airplane flight.
The birth of my daughter.

And...uh...well, I think you can imagine what the last one is.

Yeah I'm pretty excited I just haven't had time to go out and do it again. Between the wife, two kids, and work There is not enough time in the day. BTW does any one fly the telebee gyro? I built my heli several years ago and still have a mechanical gyro and would like to upgrade to a newer one. Yes, I know I am behind the times, but I was out of the hobby for a few years.
