You guys make the HELICOPTER GATHERING " BIG ". We simply supply the setting to make it happen.

Everyone is warmly welcomed! From rank novices like me to the enormous scary monsters. RC helicopters and the people who love these things make this event. The HELICOPTER GATHERING is simply just a place and a time for us to let it all hang out.

The ULTIMATE HELICOPTER GATHERING is truly becoming an " ULTIMATE " RC helicopter event.

The action begins September 8th, and goes through the 9th and 10th near Atlantic City, New Jersey. Here is a link for you to see just a little about Atlantic City, New Jersey.

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=atlantic+city+casinos&rs=2&fr2=rs-top&toggle=1&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t410

Bring your wives, your husbands, the kids. There is plenty of nonstop action in Atlantic City for them to enjoy as well. Their are many major hotels, casinos, and 24 hour a day action not far from the flying site.

There are nonstop shows in the city. The city has a boardwalk which is miles long right in front of all the hotels on the ocean side. The beach and the ocean is 50 feet out the back door of each major hotel and casino. There are many sandwhich shops to the finest world class resturants to enjoy. All over tow, and in the major hotels. There is even a shopping center located right in the center of Atlantic City. These shops are all the familier name brand products and popular stores. And of course, there is non stop table and slot machine gaming action in every major hotel casino.

Most of all, bring those helicopters and that one common desire we all share for these things. Bob, Jerry, and OC Bob will supply you with the rest.

See you there.

Wait until you see some of the guys who are coming next week end to show us how it all really gets done at the HELICOPTER GATHERING. You will go away talking to yourself. I know I will be. Many of the best flyers in the world will be here with us at the HELICOPTER GATHERING. I am humbled to watch many of these monsters go at it. And not too much humbles me anymore.

Thanks for all the support guys. You all have made the HELICOPTER GATHERING what it has become. We only supply the time and the place for us to all go at it.

The " Ultimate Helicopter Gathering " September 8th, 9th, and 10th. Near Atlantic City, New Jersey.

We have the " Derby " for you guys. 1000. bucks to the winner. No special flying talent is required. Does not make any difference how good you can fly to win. Only matters how clever and inventive you are to win. The " DERBY " is an equal and matched event for everyone who jumps into it. If we have too many entries for the first " Derby ", we will run a second " Derby ". And we will award another 1000. bucks as first prize for that one too. If not, we will offer another 1000. bucks for some other event. One we dream up that weekend. And it will also be some wacky event that plays no favorites, and one that anyone who enters has a fair chance of winning.

We have many prizes for the raffel you guys can grab. If lady luck smiles on you during the drawings you are fat. We have many of the top monster flyers to WOW us. People who will knock you off your feet with their flying ability. Look at just some of the names that are coming already. We ain't talking about some second rate off broadway show here boys. We all get the full treatment from some of the very best flyers this hobby has to offer today.

And we have food and drinks to keep you all flush for a couple of days. You get to see many old friends. Many you all know well. And you get to meet many new friends too. Some you may want to know in the future. You even get to see many of your evil arch enimies. Christ, we aim to please everyone at the HELICOPTER GATHERING. We will leave no stone unturned and no bases uncovered to get your blood flowing like it is kool aid in them veins.

And this is what our passion with this hobby is all about! Nothing more, and nothing less. Maybe some of you even want to take a poke at the OLD COOT. As soon as I am finished with my daily O2 treatment, I'll be ready and waiting for you really big hitters to even take a shot at me. You of course will all have to find me first. I am going to be holed up in a safe place there somewhere. I'll most likely be somewhere around " PLEASURE PLACE ". Ray, we need a sign on the PALACE this year. More like a target, in actual fact.

Bob, Jerry, Dino, and me, OC Bob want you all to have a great time while you are here! Just keep the flying safe. After that, let everything and every passion you got for these things hang right out there in the open.

See you all there next weekend!!

The entrance to field is approximately 200 ft west of Carmen's Market on the BlackHorse Pike (Rt 322). The address for Carmen's Market is:

6181 BlackHorse Pike, Mays Landing NJ

Here's the GPS Info.

N39.486480, W074.726730

N39° 29' 11.33", W074° 43' 36.23"

http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=13&t=h&iwloc=A

The coordinates mark the entry road into field off of Route 322.

If you look on the above map or your own map to where Rt 322 and Rt50 cross in Mays Landing N.J. the site is less than two miles west of that intersection on the BlackHorse Pike (Rt 322)

Here are some basic directions that are the easiest to follow. If you want to shave time off your drive with a more direct route - buy a map or a GPS.

Coming from the North or South via New Jersey Turnpike (I-95)

Exit 3 (Rt 168 Camden/Philly) Follow the ramp to southbound Route 168 (Blackwood/Atlantic City). Follow this for about 3 miles, and follow signs to bear right and join Rt 42S. This will eventually become or join you with the Atlantic City Expressway. Distance between bearing right on Rt42S and exiting the Expressway is approximately 30 miles.

From the Expressway take Exit 17 (Rt50, Egg Harbor/Mays Landing) and make a RIGHT off the exit onto Route 50. In a few miles, Make a RIGHT onto Route 322 West. The field is less than 2 miles from the intersection of 50 and 322, on the right hand side. It is about 100 ft past Carmens Market on the right. Look for the small sign with Smokey the Bear on it at the entrance.

Coming from the North or South via Garden State Parkway

Exit 38A, Atlantic City Expressway towards Camden/Philly. Travel 4.5 miles to Exit 12, CR-575. Proceed through the toll to the traffic light. Make a LEFT onto South Wrangleboro Road. Prepare for an IMMEDIATE RIGHT onto BlackHorse Pike (Rt 322 West) In approximately 3.5 miles you will cross Rt 50. The field is on the BlackHorse Pike (Rt 322) less than 2 miles from the intersection of 50 and 322, on the right hand side. It is about 100 ft past Carmens Market on the right. Look for the small sign with Smokey the Bear on it at the entrance.

Here is a link to a map of directions to the site. Once you are in the area of Mays Landing New Jersey this map will show you right to the field without too much trouble.

http://www.amadistrictii.org/acsb/strawfield/Straw.htm

The flying site is fairly easy to find. The entrance is right on one of the main roads coming out of Atlantic City. And this road Rt. 322, which is also called the Black Horse Pike. This is a main road for the whole area here and is known by most people in the area if you ask someone. The location of the flying site is a straight shot on Rt. 322 the Black Horse Pike. This road takes you right to the front entrance of the GATHERING flying site.

Hope this helps to make it a bit easier for all of you to locate when coming into the general area here.
