Alright guys, I finally received the batterys for my 550 today (about time) The turnigy 3300mah 30c-40c (???) Any way the connectors are weird and I had to order more connectors and some 10awg wire. So here is my question: Can lipo batterys be stored at full charge for about 2 weeks, or until my new connectors get here from china :dontknow
If I do need to put a storage charge on them what should I put them at?? :dontknow
Thanks for the help

two weeks at full charge is no problem.
but if you planning to store it longer %50 charge is recomended

OK cool if 2 weeks is ok for full charge, about how long can they be stored at full charge?
Also the warning sticker on the batterys says not to charge above 2C. Does this mean that i can charge them at 2C??? Or should I just stick with 1C.
My small 50W charger put in about 1450ma in about 33 min so 1C isnt all that bad for what I have, but 2C would be much better. I realy dont want to screw up my new batterys, that would suck

don't think your 50 watt charger can manage 2c bro...just charge as high as you can...
and...tho a battery can be left for a couple of weeks it is not optimum...leaving a lipo charged for any period encourages them to form a salt within the cells which raises the internal resistance.the best thing to do to get the best performance and life out of them is discharge them down to 3.85 v per cell

So, set the 50W charger to LIPO storage setting , I guess we'll see what happens:wow2:

Why don't yo just get some connectors from your LHS (or ReadyHeli etc.) rather than China an dyou can be flying at the weekend :dontknow:dontknow:dontknow:dontknow

Well Mike I'm not going to lie, the LHS here sucks. Kinda like you ask about helis, and they say "Isnt there one at the hospital" I can wait. I dont realy want to, but I can wait.

the connector (deans plug) isn't just for heli's... plank guys use them...so do car guys... even if he LHS sucks.. readyheli.com will have the part to you in 2-3 days...

I relize deans are popular, however The batterys came from hobby king so the connector are something I havent seen as of yet, although I like the design, so I ordered a 10 pac for $2.50.
My soldering skills leave something to be desired, and it gets ugly when I try to solder deans connectors.
Also I'm a little doped up from some dental work that I had done, so no flying for a bit.
I cant afford to crash this one, its my last working heli.
Boy, I'll tell you guys something, when the dentist drills into your jaw, Holy crap that hurts after:bawl

ok... ya like the hobbycity connectors... then get the EC3 connectors from your LHS or from any online shop :D the hobbycity ones are kinda crappy...
although... if you suck at soldering... you might look into the anderson power poles.. no soldering needed.. in fact.. if you run 2x3s setup, no Y cable is needed

My lhs doesnt have EC3's in a 4mm. I have a bunch of the 3mm ec3's but they dont realy fit The wire gauge is to thick on the 3300's . I also have some 2500mah batterys coming I'm hoping that the ec3's fit that.

to make things simple... you really need to pick one type of connection and stick with it... right now I use Deans connectors.. but have been looking at the Anderson Power Poles.. not soldering a connection is appealing since you get a better connection with a crimp than you do with solder. plus, I have a 6yr old daughter that loves to see what daddy it doing and the thought of her getting burned scares me.

I understand what you mean about the kiddos. I will look more into the power poles sounds interesting. do they make a charging adapter for them??? Time for more research.
