I have a cheapo spy cam and have been pondering the idea of seperating it and using the tx side linked to my digital camera (minolta Dimage X50) Has anyone done this? I'm guessing that the yellow wire is the video feed. Can I take my video out from the dimage and tie it into this yellow wire and receive images on the spy cam receiver?

yellow and black to the video signal
solder that to an RCA plug and radio shack
then connect to a monito and let us know if it worked

Yes... please post the results... i have a cam just like yours and thought the same thing...
What power should be used to solder it? 25 watts or something like 80 w?

On a small board like that, you'll want to keep the wattage down to protect the circuit.

It works! the black wire needs to stay connected, just tap into it then cut the yellow and wire the tranmitter side into your camera along with the balck. I now have the same view on my monitor as the camera lcd, awesome and cheap!

Yes, thanks enigma... i think i'll try it with some sort of plug, maybe smaller than RCA to keep the option os changing with the original and other cameras.
Thanks Mark for the solder tip.

enigma,
I finally got around to trying this mod - it works like you said! My unit is from Walmart- now to figure out how to elminate all of the other wiring. I would like to eliminate the video sensor component (or at least stop it from using power) but will have to continue experimenting. Thanks again.
