Friends,
Anybody running 9303 on the EB Observer that can share the pitch and throttle curves to start.
This bad boy seems way flat compared to the Intrepid, I mean power band on throttle curve seems to need to be pretty flat -
Starting with 0 deg pitch at mid and so far I am seeing about 22 at point 3 on the throttle in normal
yes no maybe

I know Gary Travis is running the 9303 on his Observer if you can get a hold of him somehow. He's busier than a long tailed cat in a rocking chair factory these days.

What you're seeing is normal. The G26 carb doesn't have what you would call a "linear" response curve. Unless you run a differential throttle linkage, you'll find that your throttle curve looks like is has a ton of exponential built in. There's nothing wrong with this as such... it's just the way it is. That particular carb is quite sensitive as the butterfly cracks open, so it doesn't take a lot of initial movement to get the response you need.
As usual, though, Gary could tell you a lot more about it than I could. I haven't flown a gasser since about last September, so my memory is more rusty than I'd like.

Thanks guys - don't want to bother Gary right now he is out of town and I got it pretty close.
Running NHP blades it spools up faster than the v blades on the Intrepid and the curve is real flat.
I flew three times yesterday and it performed well with the weight so I put the camera gear on today and hope to get some video at the field this morning and will try and share the outcome later.

for what it's worth, I have a 9303 for my Intrepid and Gary set it up for me. And the curve on my 9303 shows a completely linear curve. ( straight line from the bottom left corner to the top right corner )
I'm not sure how he would set it up for an Observer though. I would almost bet he would set it up the same. But, you'll have to ask him about it.

I presume you are talking of the pitch curve - The throttle needs to be pretty flat.
I am fighting with the pitch at hover as it relates to the engine tuning to finish smoothing out the vibes.

that is correct about the pitch curve. If it helps here is the exact throttle curve that Gary put on my 9303. Might be different for the obeserver though. Hope you can use it.

I don't know if that helps any, but maybe it could be a good place for you to start from. By the way, I am also running NHPs, and weighted paddles right now.
Good Luck. You'll get it going.

Thanks Brady - yeah the curve you have is great for the Intrepid EB but for the OB it's closer to
