Trying to help everyone make the best 5s1p pack decisions. I will try to measure the length today.

5s1p packs we are testing. I would welcome any of the guys who have the new TP 4200's or 3850's to add the weight to this post. I hear TP is also making a 6800 for the guys who like the long flight times, I will try to find someone with some to test.

So far these are the packs in testing now on the Ion-X/32-3 single stage setup.
EVO 20 3700's - 1.10 Pounds Each
EVO 20 4350's - 1.25 Pounds Each
New TP 4600's - 1.30 Pounds Each

6s1p
NEW TP 3850 6s1p - 1.25 Pounds Each
New TP 4600 6s1p - 1.5 Pounds Each

The TP 4600's are custom made to fit the MXR500 and Ion-X. I prefer their size to the much thicker EVO packs on my Ion-X. The EVO 4350's make the canopy bulge out on the sides. Power wise, I think the new 4600's are the most power 5s1p packs I have tried on the Ion.

hey cool... what about flight time and $ ?

also i read on the other thread that the guy whas somewhat abusing the EVO 20 packs with great results, i doubt a TP would withstand that sort of treatment (?)

I have the same packs and I'm going to try them with My Ion and Joker to compare and post the results.

Time will tell about the REAL number of cycles. Getting ready for IRCHA now, will have a lot more info and hopefully the weights of the 3850's and 4600's soon.

Hi Guys,

I flew My Ion X with the 4350's today.

First flight : 5 minutes taking it easy (first cycle) circuits and a few rolls and punchouts .

Pack took 2479 mah back.

Second flight : 6 minutes of flips , rolls , punchouts and tic tocs.

Pack took 3132 mah back.

So for my flying style @ 522 mah per minute these packs can give me 6 1/2- 7 minutes with reserve.

If you are a hardcore 3d flier I think 6 minute is doable.

The only downside of these packs is that they're too wide and the Canopy fits a litle bit tight.

I'd say they are similar to the 3700 in performance with a bit longer flights.

They do and they are longer so when you slide them for cg there is more strapped in. The only problem I had with the 4600 is that they laid down so much power..........I had to reduce throttle 5%.......

Man these tps but be something, you guys seem really impressed. If they are that much more puchy than the Evos I will truly be impressed as well. I run evo packs in my Logos and they have alot of jam.

Yes they do, they are longer and thinner so there is no canopy bulging at all. The 4350's are startign to crack the seam at the top of my canopy from buolging it out. :DOH My favorite B Smith Canopy to!! :(

I agree 100% with what epc2 has said. Same performance but a little longer flight time. 3.5 to 4 ounces more weight. The 4350's also came on in the power department from the get-go just like the 3700's. I strongly dislike the bulging canopy though.

I'm sorry...I'm a newbi, so these questions might sound very basic:

What the difference between a 5s and 6s other than the obvious extra 3.7 volts....wouldn't you want as much power as possible each flight?

Also whats the advantage and 1 stage vs 2 stage?
Thanks for your patience.

The stock Hacker only works up to 10S. You'll need a different ESC. Then, the extra power potential comes at the cost of extra weight. So you have to work out what your gearing will be, what headspeed you use, etc. Also, you need to consider how you want it to fly. Are you heavy 3D, or do you want duration FAI style flying. What kind of disc loading do you want? etc. Lots of variables that means 6S might or might not give you what you want.
