Default binding at the head block / main grips

i've got a question... i've been using trex v1 spindles for so long i can't remember how this goes. after reassembling with the stock shaft when i screw the screws into the spindles to bottom. i get binding on both sides of the head block. locked down can't move binding.

so my question is... is this the way it was engineered or do i have to reengineer this? do i just back off a li'l less than a full turn and hope it doesn't come off the rest of the way?

the trex shaft requires thick spacers doesn't it?
stock should have 4 very thin shims and the step washer

Are you using the trex spacers in between the head and the grips? If so that is your problem with the stock feathering shafts.

Not using any spacers except the step washers. ... it's a plastic to plastic interference fit... dremel? ...

I guess the order is
screw/washer/thrust bearing/main grip/bearing/step washer/damper/
headblock\
damper\step washer\bearing\main grip\thrust bearing\washer\screw

34 mm? That's 4 mm too short. I take the Trex shafts from 40 to 38 with a dremel, and have no problems. Also, are you using any shims? I did not see any in your description.

I've had the outer race of the thrust bearing bind on the Trex shafts causing bad vibes.
I've been using these.
