The 5th Annual Glasgow Flying at the Farm will be October 20-22nd. This year we are going to split the proceeds between the local high school girls basketball team (as usual) and the "Every 15 minutes" program (a program that is put on before prom to try and keep the kids from drinking and driving). We will be making the donation to the program in my daughter Nikki's name (for those of you who don't know, she and her best friend were killed by a drunk driver in October 2005), and going forward will be donating the proceeds to a charity each year in her name. As before, we plan to feed you well and give you lots of room to fly. Friday night will be homemade chili and homemade potato soup. Dinner Saturday night will be made by the head chef from the local Jarrett Farm resort. (His daughter is on the bball team). As we do every year, we'll have plenty of desserts and extras!!
Last year we ended up with 45 pilots and it is already looking this year like we'll have quite a turnout. We'd just like to say once again how much we appreciate everyone who has supported this over the past few years. This has always made a big difference to the basketball team and the girls have really been thankful each year.
We will have hotel and prize information to follow. If you need directions please email jackiglasgow@cleanairaction or call me at 918/269-9492. We will have a website up (thanks Ryan!) in a few weeks.
This is a low key event, no contests, lots of room for flying, and in the evening we normally end up hanging out in the shop for quite a while.
If at all possible, please drop me a line and let me know you are thinking about attending (it gives me a head start on getting the food!) Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year.
Thanks, Jacki Glasgow (and Scott and Zach)

YAY!!! Finally, one you can actually come to and stay and fly!! We're at IRCHA now, having a blast. See you soon. Will you be making any others between now and ours? Mt Pleasant or OK City? I know you're flying in the Wichita one. Can't wait to see that - sounds like it will be fun.

Well, your name is on the Wichita one as signed up to compete, so I thought you'd be practicing so you could beat Michael! :-)

Absolutely, planning on competing. I went to Italy for a couple of weeks and kind of forgot about it. Now that i'm back, i'm gonna start preparing as much as i can. He'll be tough to beat, however (except that he hasn't been flying much lately either!).

New Information, Sponsors, Reminder, and Attendees
Landing Fee: $25
This will include lunch and dinner on Saturday. We will also be serving lunch and dinner on Friday for $5 per meal. We will have breakfast available Saturday and Sunday.
Sponsors so far:
VBlades, Rick's, Oklahoma Hobbies and RC, Helithreadz, Michael Leipzig Photography, and Ken Stitt. We definitely plan on having a heli kit for the raffle - we're just not sure what kind yet.
The guys from High Voltage RC (the TRex specialists) in St Louis are planning on coming. They will have their stuff with them for anyone who would like to buy any 'extras' for the new heli you will win on Saturday night. :-)
Hotel reminder:
Microtel is holding rooms. They have agreed to hold rooms through October 6th. Executive Inn is holding rooms till October 10th.
Alan Szabo Jr will be with us again this year, along with Scott Cathey and quite a few other great pilots to watch and learn from. If you are new to the hobby this is a great funfly to come to, because no matter what you fly there will be someone there to help you out.
Also, it looks like we will have some people coming in on Thursday night, so we plan on starting bright and early Friday morning.
Cross your fingers for good weather!! See you soon. :fly
