I have the Intrepid gas and think I have gotten lube on my clutch. Is there a way to ease the clutch out without dropping the engine or removing the main gear? It is so much work to drop the engine :(

Nope...but the main gear route is the easier of the two.

Thanks Mark, It is never easy, I put tri-flo on all my bearings THEN I saw the post about DO NOT LUBE the clutch bearing. I try to read all posts that might apply to me but missed that one  Oh well.
How is your camera ship doing since you and Chris worked on it at Ashland?

I did note on a recent teardown that my cluch had gotten just a bit of lube out of the bearing and was just starting to slip a bit.
I really feel bad that Chris spent that much time on my heli when the trouble turned out to be a bent crankshaft. He's still some kind of awesome heli tuner. :noteworthy It was still incredibly smooth despite the twitch in the tail from bent crank vibes. I was very hopeful, though, after seeing how nice your was running when they got done with it. Have you been able to get much time in on yours since then?

Mark, did a few cautionary hovers and then some slow figure eights. did some maintenance( this is where I put some lube on the start shaft bearing and top of clutch bell). Got a bad vibe next time out. took clutch out to clean and found a bad bearing in the start shaft. I have to order bearing from Bergen. Looking to get it back together to try again.
