The MXR500 is now the XCell Razor!!!

You can see the Razor 600E and Razor .50 including the canopy here (http://www.miniatureaircraftusa.com/helicopterkits/new_model/kit_preview.asp)

Sweet.

If I may make a suggestion about the canopy I would have to say make it look a tad bit more like the Extreme/Tempest line of canopies, extend the front a little more or make it look a little more like the synergy, it already kinda looks like the N9 canopy a tad. The one in the pics looks a little too short and fat to me, I think its kinda ugly. Might just take some getting use to though....

Dave isn't qualified to clean Ted's gun but that isn't Ted's work.

nah Tim and Bob make the plug and mold and pulled the canopies.
That line over fade technique. Tim has been doing that for many years. I think he copyrighted it back in the early 90's <G>

The machine is VERY small :) The canopy IMO fits it very nice and I was very happy to see the final results. Tim has a very good handle on what looks good and that canopy fits the model very nicely.

The paint is by Tim as stated by David. He use to paint a LOT of canopies but the low price painters made painting not worth while. There is a lot of labor in a nice paint job and that does not come cheap.

On a final note the Razor will be in full force at IRCHA with quite a few of them flying. We should be up on the line with one in the air quite a lot so look for the new paint jobs! I just finished building my 2nd Razor and it took me right at 4 hours complete including radio gear install. I had no instructions but it assembles pretty darn easy. There is nearly no need for a wrench and all you need is the allen driver.

For the nitro version:

with the muffler beeing up front so far... how is the canopy gonna fit?
I'd love to see a pic of the nitro version with the canopy installed.

I find the canopy design kinda old school... it reminds me a bit of a shuttle canopy...

It definitely will not weight as much as a shuttle canopy :) The canopy fits like a glove and the machine is very small. Different paint jobs will also look much different. This should be very easy to paint also.

Nice looking ship but it could be a very expensive crash with 120 mixing which has been known to trash servos in a crash and all of the electronics just sitting on the sides..

huh? servo gears cost what for a 9252 , 6 bucks apeice, thats not bad , + a heli isnt really made to crash is it? another good thing , you can use 9650s in this heli too ,

How about the trashing an RX or cutting the wires on your servos or gov, 611 ect if it goes in on the the side. I like the ship but I am not a fan of the expensive stuff being on the sides.

I am taking about the nitro version. Thats the one I was look at. I am also curious how that nose mounted engine will take a nose hit.

It looks like you're more worried about crashing than it's flying capabilities.

If you don't like the engine in the nose this heli is not for you.

 You dont crash?

I just saw 2 pros that fly 1000X better than me go in back to back at the funfly last week. One crash was minimal the other toasted a 611. On the last day my ship went in to a nose dive. It did 2 fast loops that cut the grass both times before I cut it when I realized I had no elevator contol. Dont know why....

Its got nothing to do with how you fly. Its got more to do with what could happen when the unexpected happens. I guess you buy cars on how good you can drive it and you could care less if it had ABS or air bags because your a good driver.

HC had a problem beyond his control and his MXR went in HARD. No frame damage, minimal crash parts damage. Like Mongo says, the power of intention is strong.

Ill be nice , 50 feet , if you look how the design is , its hard to break the frames ,

You disable the airbag? Do you cut out the seat belts to?

"most folks find that being concerned with the bad stuff sorta build a "self forfilling phrophsey". as in, if all ya think about is crashing, guess what ya do."

Well why dont we all forget about the bad stuff and start flying with our eyes close. While we are at it lets play with guns and explosives.

The only people that think this way are people that dont care about Money because they have lots of it and will buy new stuff if they break something. I used to think that way and my creditor loved me for it.

"Ill be nice , 50 feet , if you look how the design is , its hard to break the frames"

Did I didnt quesion the frames breaking. All I said was I like the heli but I dont like the way that the nitro version does not have any storage spots and has the electronics mounted so they can get ripped of or covered in oil. It seem like this makes a better electrics.

50 feet , I can say this , there is a design flaw with mother earth , gravity! I dont think theres a heli out there that can bounce like a basket ball , if it was , then everyone will have that heli , yes I know how it is with the creditors , and yes , I still crash , but for the love of flying helis , its part of it , every crash I have , it gets me closer to what my heli is capable of showing me what she can really do , thats whats so exhilarating, on the edge , and that edge means , crunch sometimes

the canopy will exsorb most of that unless you hit the ground doing 70 mph, the oil on the electronics , dont know , dont fly nitro ,

One suggestion to the moderators of this thread , since this is the MA electric forum and 50 Feet and maybe others are interested in the Nitro version why doesn't he start a new thread with his concern about the engine in the front in the MA Glow :badair: forum.

You don't get the point ,is not about crashing is about getting a nice machine , with proven capabilities and a fair price, Fair not cheap.

I agree with some of the others.
The canopy just doesn't do it for me.

Looks too much like a crunched up shuttle canopy. :D

Maybe a bigger or better picture might do it more justice.

I also thought the final version was going to have a new head design?

Kind of looks like the one I have on my Ion. :D
Extreme head with the Stratus flybar carrier.
Nothing wrong with that for the 3D crowd as the combo does fly much better than the standard Extreme head, but I was hoping for something new.
