View Full Version : 9303 and R921 - curiously quiescent

I have a weird problem with an R921 receiver. It turns on and binds ok, but when the link lights turn solid and I move the sticks, nothing happens at the servos. This receiver has flown fine before and hasn't changed since it's last flight.

I have another R921 which I've tested with and it works just fine, so I don't think the problem is with my transmitter. I've checked the battery voltages and they seem fine.

Has anyone seen this before? Could this be a setup problem of some sort?

Is the remote rx plugged in to port 1 and with a solid light?

The remote RX is plugged in, but no light - good thought, I hadn't noticed that! Testing with my spare remote RX yields no light either.

I'm guessing that's why it isn't leaving failsafe. I've tested with an oscilloscope and it's clearly producing pulses on channels except throttle, which strongly suggests it's turning on and entering failsafe, but not progressing.

Could be something inside that reads from the remote RX isn't working. It might be faulty.

Did you try another cable? They are easily damaged. You can also try the other plug on the 921 and see if that helps.

If you loose a receiver (main or satellite) in flight, your plane will keep flying. However, the current firmware prevents the RX from initializing at power-on unless both the main and satellite are functioning.

Good ideas - tried them out. My other remote RX and cable work ok - tested them on my other R921 just now.

Since they don't work on this particular R921 (in either port), it stands to reason that there's something wrong with the R921, rather than the remote or cable. Of course, this remote RX and cable might /also/ be dead, but one thing at a time...

That's probably all the troubleshooting you can do ... time to send the faulty 921 + remote to Horizon.

Sounds like it - C'est la vie!

Thanks for your help with this trouble! Great to have a second opinion.
