If you have the 60M carb (the one that shipped with the CSpec PS and you replace the fuel return with the third needle, a common modification at the time I believe. Does this then give you a 60K carb like the original one that came with the CSpec or are there other differences between the two?

The short answer - no.
The 60M case is not drilled with a midrange passage, and the rotor does not have a midrange cateye.
The 3rd needle modification only modulates return fuel on the 60M - it doesnt actually have anything to do with a 'mid-range'

I changed to the 3 needle carb and a one way T valve so I could still use the pump , heli is now mixture perfect right through its range !!!! very easy mod
