View Full Version : Throttle hold, strange action, JR 12X?
Hi,
Using a JR 12X. Throttle hold is active when stick switch is pulled up (skywards). This is visible in the display as "hold". Fine, now the Timer can be activated with TH, however the Timer starts when TH is on (active) and stops when TH is off . In addition, when turning on the TX a warning will sound when TH is off  I don't get it!

Well you need to get into the manual as well as adopt an attitude of being willing to experiment with the programming.
If you've already got a model setup, I suggest you do a copy to an open slot and then play with the original.
There's no "12X programming for dummies" thread that I've found anywhere.... lol, I guess indicating that by the time you buy one of these radios you're pretty familiar with JR stuff. But I came over from Futaba and it is different how things are done.
1. You can reverse the action on the TH with the throttle operation as well as set the percentage of travel where it activates, I think it's in the first menu.
2. You can turn warnings off/on but I don't recall right now which menu that's in, but I think that's in the first one as well.
3. You can activate the time with throttle position which is how mine is setup, again I'm thinking the first menu.
By the first menu, I mean the one you access by holding the "ENT" button while turning on the radio, can't remember what they call it right now. The second menu is I think called the Function list and that's the one you enter when the radio is already on.
Get used to referring to the servo monitor screen to see if what you've changed does what you want, lots quicker than tinkering with an rx and a servo. If you mess something up bad (I can almost guarantee it'll happen) you can just go to the copy you made before starting, and copy it back to the slot where your working.
Not a lot of specific information here and I apologize for that, but I'd have to go get out my radio and manual to give you more specifics as it's been awhile since I set that stuff up. Best advice I got about learning the 12X was to not be afraid of experimenting with it, especially if you've got a good copy to back you up....
Thanks, no ther isn't alot of information on the 12X. I've got the programming of planes down to the last digit! Heli is different! It just seemed strange that the TH triggers an "turn-on" alarm when active (meaning you need to turn TH off before the TX starts up)and that the timer starts when the TH is active. I'll go look around- if you come up with the answer plaese post!

The TH alram is the same on the X9303 and DX7. The alarm isn't specific to heli mode, so it tells you some switch is out of position.

In the timer menu, select "One Time" to "On". This removes the timer-stop and subsequent beep with assigned switch/stick.
I just got this radio on Friday and going through all the options.
