Where are you guys mounting your base loaded antennas on your Stratus? The only surfaces I can find are metal and carbon fiber which don't seem like they would mix well with the antenna.
I considered mounting on top of the Gyro tray (my gyro is mounted below my battery tray).

Mounting the antenna on the carbon fiber is no problem. My antennas are mounted on the left side just above and to the left of the throttle servo, but depending where you have mounted your electronics you may have to pick a better spot. I think mounting on top of the gyro tray would be fine also. You may have to bend it a little to clear the canopy if you mount it there.

I've been mounting mine on the top of the left frame and putting an angle downward and it's been working fine so far. I've got 4 mounted this way on both JR 955's and the G3 Futaba receivers and unless something changes I'll keep putting them there. I just use a good piece of double sided foam tape to keep it off the carbon fiber.

Bill I ditched mine in favour of a normal set up after doing a range check and noticing a huge difference in range, I also had ben having some lock outs and these have also stopped since. it is possible to do q really neat antenna installation without a deans if you want to.

Yea, after talking to the guys today at IRCHA, I've decided against it. I'll keep the one on my TREX 600, but will figure out a neater way to do the antenna on my Stratus'es'ai
