Hi all,
I'm waiting for my mSR (it colud be at home from the next 7 september) and I have read the manual and all the posts of this and all other threads/forums about this little heli.
I bought the BNF version, because I have a Futaba FF9 with the Spectrum module.
There are some mSR owners that have this radio as well?
If yes (as I hope), should they explane me (and us) the radio setup for this heli?

Thank you very much http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif .

I set my mSR up with a DX7. The setup procedure was easy. Mixing is in the heli's controller, so you use the aircraft setup on your radio, not the heli setup. Bind the heli, then go through the control check as detailed in the mSR manual. Make sure the swashplate moves as shown in the pictures, click servo channel reverses as necessary to correct any errors. The tail was a bit trickier, since there's no servo you can look at to see if it's moving. I just spun my mSR up slowly, to the point I had some tail control but the heli wasn't flying, and verified rudder operation (I had to reverse my rudder channel). In total, radio setup took maybe 5-6 minutes and then I was flying.

I did put a fair amount of negative exponential on Aileron, Elevator and Rudder, and I also moved to the longer upper swash balls. The controls were too slow otherwise. And lastly, I didn't like how far up I had to move throttle to get the heli to fly, 2/3rds for a good hover. And since you don't use the heli config on the radio, there's no throttle curve to adjust. I ended up increasing the throttle servo end point to +150%, which had the effect of making the throttle stick "faster", getting my up at about 1/2 stick.

Does the throttle top out before full travel?

Thank you very much, RocketSled :clappp
I have 1 TREX 450 SE V2, 2 GAUI EP200 (with and w/o flybar), 2 GAUI EP100, and 3 4#3. I like micro helis .
I've read that I must reverse throttle ch with my Futaba.
I'll try your setup and I'll report the results on this thread ;)

Does the throttle top out before full travel?

Hard to say. I haven't bench tested it, I just adjusted while flying until I got something that felt as much like my 250 and 450 as possible (which isn't very possible, I might add). Since the throttle is an ESC, overdriving the servo range won't do it any harm. I don't really care so much where it is that I finally run out of stick. What I want is the heli to be light at half stick.

Just spent 1/2 flying outside in fairly strong breezes. The heli easily handles 10MPH, if you point it in to the wind and hold it, it'll hover on 1/3rd throttle. Random flying, the battery seems to last about 6 minutes. I just hovered it in to the wind for as long as I could and with the reduced throttle it flew for almost 8 minutes.

I'm ready for hop ups already.
